I really like that they just installed this bench (today?) it's great, we need more benches. I just think if it were me, I'd have turned the bench 90ยฐ to look at the park, instead of the arena wall ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

@WTL @edgarmtoro it would be great but unfortunately that ribbed bricking would made the graffiti extremely challenging. Maybe some talented artist could make a design that changes as you walk by?

A nice, big FU to the driver of the 18 wheeler who parked in a T intersection (all-way stop) that didn't affect the vehicular traffic much but prevented pedestrians from using the intersection. Most of the pedestrians needing to use that intersection at 8:30 am are kids going to school ๐Ÿคฌ

It's finally Friday! These 5 day weeks are hard ๐Ÿ˜ I somehow accidently ground twice the coffee needed for the coffee pot. Fortunately I noticed before pouring it in.

Managed to motivate myself to bring in the laundry! I looked at the weather and thought I could just leave it because tomorrow is supposed to be warmv and sunny. And then I realised it's going to be -5ยฐC tonight ๐Ÿ˜ฉ 30 minutes of procrastinating but I did it!

    @grivettcarnac The LRT there was generally planned because of the headquarters. They definitely plan on shuttles. One of the big reasons DND employees didn't want to move there is because they happily took the bus downtown. Many lived in Orleans and the poorness of the bussing out there meant they had to suddenly buy a car. Parking is not free at headquarters either and there's actually a parking shortage. Anyway, back in the Nortel days the bussing was good. Three routes from Bayshore alone went there all day and there were several stops in the campus. Which was extra annoying for those of us who got off just after Nortel ๐Ÿ˜ and then Nortel shut down and the bussing reduced.

    @grivettcarnac Interestingly Nortel paid OC transpo for the better busing out there. There was nowhere near enough parking for all the employees, so essentially just the higher up people got a parking space and everyone else took the bus. You'd be in a packed bus, going by the parking lots and see lots of fancy cars. Then the bus would be almost completely empty out after stopping at all the Nortel stops. Very different experience 23 years ago.

    @grivettcarnac Right. Plus it's hard to picture just how big Nortel was back then. At any rate, that LRT station was only decided upon after DND announced the plan to move headquarters there. I'm sure all these delays have annoyed DND just as much as anyone. I believe they had to put in more parking, parking previously was by a lottery system. But the busing hell and endless LRT delays meant they were forced to put more parking in.

    @OhOkKay I don't think it's any kind of active situation. The cops aren't doing anything obvious. I saw the paramedics with a stretcher coming out of the house.

    @stephanie @casseagull The $4K doesn't have to be the price of the property, merely how much you own of the property. So, go in with someone to purchase a small property like a condo or a vacation home. I guess Quebec expects you to do it in the electoral division you represent, which might be trickier. At any rate, they make a lot of money so I doubt this is really a difficulty, more of an annoyance.

    @OhOkKay @ottaross Wow good job IDing him. I guess he was on red green, but I didn't watch it much. He really was in like one episode of every Canadian show in the 80s Seeing Things, Littlest Hobo, The Edison twins, Danger Bay, Street Legal, etc. I forgot about Adderly.
