There really aren't enough night trains, not just the number of different routes, but the actual number of trains on those routes. Now need to work out what to do instead for my Holiday plans :(

@quixoticgeek i think you’re talking about the international ones. But even within the country it’s lacking. I live close to Arnhem, going to a concert in Rotterdam. If I tried to go home with public transport I’d have to spend the night on a train station. Thanks but no thanks. Did that once already, can’t recommend.

Started to play with Sections in Home Assistant and I love it. Thanks to @madelena and the team at @homeassistant for this release. Some examples. Please read the alt text. The MacBook Air version would still have room for a 4th column, but it seems I am limited to three. Hopefully that can change or I am wrong.

I believe this is just the start. I can't wait for the next released. I have always found dashboard very frustrating.

If your EVs aren't selling maybe that's because you're making giant fucking trucks and SUVs and hyper-expensive luxury sedans and the kind of people who want EVs mostly just want a compact car for getting to work and running errands.

@hanser @stfn @SophiaNya How do you suppose we bridge the availability gap for renewables? Both wind and solar are not available 100% of the time.

I'm convinced that nuclear is far less harmful than fossil fuels, and that we need it to replace fossil fuels for at least the next 50 or so years.

I hope you'll agree with me that we need to phase out fossil fuels ASAP.

@Wen @collectifission long story short: you can't keep solar roadways clean.

The surface will degrade rapidly as a result from driving and temperature cycles, especially when frost gets involved. We use salt and sand to combat slippery roads. As a result the road surface will get cloudy, reducing power output.

The next step is that the road surface will start to disintegrate, the surface will fall apart over time. This exposes the fragile solar cells, permanently disabling sections of road.

@Wen @collectifission Besides that: A road sits (mostly) flat on the ground. Solar panels are tilted towards the sun to increase production. By design, the solar panels already produce less than their theoretical peak even before wear and tear sets in.

It's just a waste of materials. I'm all for putting solar panels anywhere it makes sense: car parks, bus stops, rooftops...

Just don't waste my tax euros on absolute shite like this. Build nuclear or other renewables instead.
