@aurynn Seems like someone should create a Wooly Mastodon fork that tries to remain interoperable, but adds new features on top of basic mastodon.

@lexi I wish that were the case. BIPOC folks seem to be the most ardent requestors of quote toots, and the mastodon devs have been terribly resistant to adding that feature.

@ryanjyoder @lexi Well, personally I like the ability to add context about why I am boosting that particular post.

In terms of the desires of BIPOC users, you will need to ask them, but my impression is that quote posts are a useful tool for calling people out on their bullshit.

The words "inner cities" always makes me think of "inner space" -- the internal landscape of the soul. An inner sanctum, a space of introspection. It's not that inner cities are places inside of cities, no, inner cities are places inside of ourselves.

Inner city neighborhoods, like Harlem, Hough, the Hill District are a part of me. Some have a "mind palace" -- I have inner cities. They are a reflection of the cities around me, an involution that creates an equivalent but very different world.

@futurebird The term "inner space" reminds me of Dennis Quaid being shrunken down and injected into Martin Short, but I don't think that provides any helpful analogies about urbanism.

    This blog was posted 4 days before the failed spacex launch and what it lays out even before the rocket exploded and spread god knows what kind of contaminant all over the gulf coast is a damning indictment of every regulatory agency involved in allowing spacex not just to launch their spaceship, but to even build a launch center in the middle of one of the most ecologically sensitive areas in the entire country.

    Wow, it is rare to find someone even more pessimistic than me about the effects of climate change.

    However, between abortion being banned and the increasing tempo of natural disasters, it seems entirely plausible that a lot more people are going to start dying in childhood.
