Morning gang!

Today I am mostly trying to detect individual letters using image recognition in Python.

Working pretty well - except for non-contiguous glyphs. I keep losing the dots in top of i and j and : and ; which is a little frustrating.

@Edent I had some success with this by increasing the size of the source image until accuracy increased

Here's a weird idea, why not use email to build a social network.

@davew We once prototyped this. Email with plain text/html as message with JSON attachment providing context, metadata. Would work with any email client but could have a more Twitter-type experience with a dedicated client.

was spectacular. Completely caught me off guard. Ignore the ‘fish out of water’ reviews, that’s not what it’s about at all. If you’ve got tweens or teens, they should see it, hopefully it will empower them. Gerwig has done something amazing.

Anyone here using a #treadmill with a #StandingDesk?

I just need something short / small but which can take a full day of walking.

So many options out there and very few trustworthy reviews.

Any personal recommendations from you lot?

@Edent Friend couldn't find one that 'worked' for them, so made their own from an IKEA standing desk and a narrow small treadmill from Amazon. Absolutely great, but we did find that the gentle head bobbing on Zoom calls was a little distracting. 😂

Threads is the most fun, most interesting new product of the year, and no one in the E.U. can use it, or will be able to use it anytime soon, because their own elected officials passed a law that effectively bans it.

Just for fun I’ve created a bot that is tooting the entirety of Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 : A Space Odyssey frame by frame. It’s going to take about 5 years. A month or so in and we’ve made it to the opening title. Join me in watching the film in slow motion.
