Ok. So far so good. Managed to make enough plaster so didnt waste nor made too little. Nice texture too. I wonder how will it look like when it dries. Now most importamt is to keep it wet for next 24 hours (at least) to prevent cracking.

Few days ago I discovered a great replacement to tree style tabs. Sidebery is amazing. you can create multiple workspaces so not only you endup with even more open tabs, but you can group them in separate containers. Been a while since my last post. Latelly. I’ve been doing a ton (literally used a ton of clay) of plastering. Did staircase (two layers of clay and finish of lime mixed with clay) and our bedroom. In the meantime struggled with some terrible back pains (basically trying to do too muxh and ending up fuxking up my back). The color should still brighten up, at least we hope it will based on the previous work in the room. Despite back issues works are moving forward. We are waiting for the finish to cure properly (and my back) before doing all finishing touches on the wall. Once done, we move with putting the floor in and will finally move upstairs \o/

@m0bi13 Nie wydaje mi sie ze nawet z perspektywy lewicowej to jest trzyma kupy. Bo po pierwsze 3 miltiardy mogly by byc sporzytkowane lepiej niz na propagande. No bo niby za PiS’u to zle a teraz (bo nasze) to dobrze? Sorry ale chyba ze masz na mysli lewicowosc bolszewicka to to dobre rozwiazanie jest. W przeciwnym wypadku, szczegolnie teraz to jest rozwiazanie najgorsze, ktore tylko pokazuje ze zmienilo sie logo u wladzy i nic poza tym.

Jesli chodzi o wydatki to niestety ale nalezy ciac bo przy tej inflacji i zadluzeniu “to jebnie”.

Another batch of handmade paper… I got the brown speckles by mixing in dried up leaves I harvested from our garden.

@rasterweb This looks great. Is the paper flexible? I love handmade paper, its great for all sort of things and you have full control over thickness and texture too. Some years ago (like 10 or so) I was doing a project of making paper out of cow poo.

@rasterweb Oh. hydrolic press, awesome. Wish I had one back in the days. We did bikeshed a wodden one. As for thickness you can regulate it with the amount of water in the pulp (if you use frame+mesh). At least that’s what we did.

I try to avoid any gadgets that need connection to a smartphone app for usage now. There’s usually little chance it will still be supported in 5-10y, the mobile ecosystem is not great at backward compatibility, and we’ve seen thousands of apps dying with each big change, even from big companies. Apps are the new “pc drivers” but it’s incredible hard to find replacement once they die.

I will check around. at this moment I just need something that works as I need to monitor some devices energy usage but also be able to trigger them on and off. So my choices were zigbee since I already use light dimmers with zigbee or build esp32 stuff since I also started playing with it. But as much as I would like to build it, at this moment I just need something to work. That link you sent looks promising though I wonder whats the build quality and especially safety of those. Last thing I want is burning the device it’s connected to to or the house with some cheap stuff from ali.

Maybe Big Tech will continue making sure its interoperability and usability are poor, so most of the people would go for corporate shit like Facebook, Slack and what not, because <place your excuse here>, while we can continue doing our things outside of the walled gardens?

@pfm Pretty sure this will be the result in long run. I do think it won’t be long before first features introduced by meta will be protocol breaking so either you bend over or become less compatible. This will have another effect where people will start complaining that server implementation X sucks as it has no Y feature and so on. It all seems so familiar, and yet we fall for it over and over again (and I dont even mean software).

@mastodonmigration As much as I hate mate and I’m in the block camp, I dont see anything out of ordinary in that screenshot. It’s what every instance is doing in order to provide service. It needs to collect your profile name and image to be able to display it on its own server. It collects IP address because it needs to know where your instance is at. Same with likes, posts etc. It needs to collect those to be able to display it to others.

Since last year we had bats living above the window behind one of those black planks, we decided to give them new home on the fresh wall. Hopefully they will like it and make use of it. We know they are in the area as we see them fly around the house.

We have started dropping our ground heat exchange pipes into the ditch. As you can see ground water level is pretty high so we had to borrow funny long rubber overall. Unfortunatelly we fucked up and had to redo the whole setup as we counted the lenghts wrong and endup with too little pipe at the end of the spiral. Tomorrow should be done with that (good as its getting colder each day and working in the water ain’t great).

Once we get all the inside plumbing material we will be able to connect it all, fill up the system and once covered with ground, enjoy a little boost coming straight from earth.

Yay! Playing around with the digger\o/mThis weekend together with @antilopa we will be digging some trenches around the plot. Want to deliver electricity and water to few parts of the future garden. Also time to digg those water tanks which will gsther rainwarer and store it for the garden (6 of them in total). Plus the most exciting of it all, digging in 100meters of pipe which will work as a ground heat exchange for our ventilation system.

Ground is very hard so thing aint easy. Especially to dig the hole for those water tanks, but its like a little boy dream come true so I’ll enjoy while it lasts. We have the digger until monday…
