Saw someone earlier today describe amateur climate science denial propagandists as "nihilist." That's not very fair to nihilists; while you may not agree with the nihilist, their belief that we're all fucked at least has SOME empirical evidence behind it. Climate science denial guys invariably KNOW they're full of shit, they just expect to SURVIVE the apocalypse somehow - which is far far more delusional than any nihilist I've ever met; even if I don't think nihilists are very nice people.

Cleaning up around my parents place, I made some coffee and grabbed a mug.

The one I had in my hand wasn’t one I’d seen before (and I have mugs from them going back to my childhood).

I looked up the “Fifinella” name under the character, and found it’s from a never-completed Disney film based on Roald Dahl’s first children’s book “The Gremlins.”

Cool 😎

Wonder where they got it.

For this #ThickTrunkTuesday, here’s one of the biggest walnut trees in Walnut. As with many of these trees, it has dropped limbs over the years, but still reaches across the bridle path with one.

One of our favorite finds from last year’s Seattle WA trip was an unplanned visit to Whidbey Island Distillery.

A twist on the classic Bramble cocktail is now one of my most favorite drinks.

A “shot” here is flexible - I use the juice I get from one or two limes, and measure other things from that.

1 shot Fresh squeezed lime juice
1 shot simple syrup
2 shots gin

Fill glass with a generous amount of crushed ice.
Pour over some Loganberry liqueur ( maybe 1/2 shot)

It’s Kebab Night!

We got beef, chicken and salmon on the grill.

Everyone’s different in the veggie side, so instead of putting them on the parities protein skewers, they’re in a grill-friendly basket. Squash, onions and peppers with a touch of olive oil and a generous sprinkling of Lebanese 7-spice blend.

White basmati rice will complete the servings.

Another ride in the books. Terrible average speed, as I kept stopping to photograph and identify plants along the way. Gobs of walkers doing the same, so I fit in more than I usually would.

Did manage to hit a peak heart rate a couple bpm higher than the “calculated max” for my age on the climb back up to the saddle 😊
