    @matz @juc vi svelo un segreto: ActivityPub supporta oggetti multilingua, per cui in teoria sarebbe possibile avere un unico post con entrambe le lingue. Ma Mastodon non ha un buon supporto per questa feature.

    Oggi ho sistemato il computer della compagna del signore anziano che aiuto abitualmente (anche lei anziana).

    La maggior parte dei problemi è creata dagli aggiornamenti di Windows, che fanno a cazzotti con una macchina non più nuovissima.

    Gli altri derivano da installer e popup che sfruttano la minore competenza dell'utente.

    Considerando l'uso che ne fanno (browsing e mail), penso che dovremmo organizzare corsi di linux per la terza età.

    Linux risolverebbe tutto.

    Cosa che ho (ri)scoperto (e che sicuramente ri-dimenticherò).

    Con KDE (credo su tutte le versioni, la mia è vecchia) cliccando col tasto destro sul bottone per massimizzare la finestra la si allarga solo sull'asse X, mentre invece cliccando con la rotella la si allarga solo sull'asse Y.

    Che avere una finestra alta come lo schermo ma larga quanto basta a volte serve.

    A questo ci sono arrivato quasi da solo… ma descrivo per ragionarci meglio (magari scopro dov'è il casino).

    Ho una cartella condivisa sul server (/condivisa) che monto sul laptop con nfs come /FileServer, e funziona (ci apro file con Gimp, ecc).

    Dentro alla cartella condivisa ho fatto un "ln /var/www/htdocs ./WWW", e sul server funziona.

    Però se dal laptop vado in /FileServer/WWW mi vede la /var/www/htdocs del laptop anziché quella del server.

    Vado a studiarmi i link simbolici.

    @GustavinoBevilacqua la differenza tra un link simbolico ed un hardlink è proprio questa. L'hard link è “questo file [tecnicamente, inode] è accessibile anche da questo percorso”. Un link simbolico è grosso modo come un piccolo file che ti dice “no, il file che vuoi è /altro/percorso/di/file” ... se sul client /altro/percorso/di/file non esiste (o punta ad altro) finirai su quello.

    Quindi si, devi esportare anche la destinazione e montarla.

    I only just found this but, in case you're still testing things, here's a couple of hints:

    1. it is possible to navigate in the dark;
    2. it is possible to climb even without stairs, so you can usually get out of subterranean pits even tool-less; it's extremely rare to get into an actual “save-ender” situation
    3. as your tech level progresses, you'll discover ways to automate most things;
    4. do focus on getting ore; there are hints in the rock to where it may be.
