The night.

Night wraps around you, envelopes you.

It is peaceful. The garish, overdone trying too hard of the day is nowhere to be found.

Sweet, blessed silence, surrounded by a nameless mystery that has held you safe every night since you were born.

My weekend reading in between all the getting stuff done will be a lovely re-read of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

Heaven knows I’ve seen every possible movie adaptation of this, since I’m a huge classic horror fan .

But it’s been decades since I’ve read the book!

I recently got a Barnes & Noble gift certificate for Mother’s Day from my son, so I bought myself some classics that I had wanted to have in my collection 📚🤎.

Made old fashioned beef stew using my mom’s old recipe, made it in my mother in law’s ancient roasting pan.

Huge success! Super glad. The ginger snaps I made yesterday went nicely with coffee, so I’m pleased.

I don’t usually have time to cook the way I’d like to very often, so I really enjoyed this.
