I do actually like the idea of having more direct democracy, what if 20% of the city budget was allocated with a ranked choice voting system every year?
So @GottaLaff just coined #DefendantSleepyFlopSweatMcBrainSpurs for #TFG and I think we all have a civic duty to make that hashtag trend. So I humbly ask you to boost this message and use that hashtag as often as possible.

The Frida Kahlo Quick-Build Project has been unnecessarily delayed and watered down for too long. Itโs time to approve this project that will increase safety for all people.
@LukeBornheimer as someone who bikes to city college three times a week for classes, this will be appreciated. Currently Judson doesnโt have bike lanes and makes it somewhat uncomfortable to get to and from Hearst slow street.
However, my biggest issues are:
In the neighborhood north of Judson, Gennessee and Forester are narrow and at a slope which makes biking in the sharrows uncomfortable.
Additionally, the T intersections at Forester and Gennessee have stop signs that barely stop cars. Installing raised crosswalks there and turning lanes for cyclists would be best.
@suldrew the owner of Yasmin is (or was, I donโt know the latest) on a hunger strike to protest this bike lane. He was not suggesting an alternative design, he just wants it gone.
My counter protest idea is to organize a banquet in the bike lane ร la Sunday Streets:
Block the street, put tables and chairs, reroute the bikes to the car lanes and bring in some delicious food to share!
Maybe we can get some local restaurants to help us out with food and tables.
@SafeStreetRebel I donโt think I have the leadership skills or the connections in the neighbors, transit and buisness owners communities to pull this offโฆ
I hiked up Mt Tamalpais yesterday and it was beautiful!
Thanks to the kind strangers who let us use their eclipse glasses for a second to see the moon-demon take a bite at the sun-cookie. #SFBA#outdoors#SanFrancisco
@burritojustice
Lurie: no transportation agenda as far as I know
Peskin: still sour about the zoning restrictions in north beach / marina
Farrell: โOpen Market Street back up to carsโ
Whoโs the livable city candidate?
Shariati? As an SFMTA engineer that would be amazing
@scott@burritojustice yeahโฆ Iโm a little disappointed as well.
The political discourse with homelessness, crime and the war on drugs is in my opinion getting to a fear mongering state that is taking over all the political landscape.
Not only is it the pillar of the campaigns of the mayoral candidates, it is all they talk about.
Iโm not saying those arenโt issues we shouldnโt address. To me itโs very similar to how the right wing in France will bring up immigration and french identity right before the elections to get most of the media focused on that (and them) and minimize or delegitimize other issues.
So yeah, we donโt talk about Breed watering down the livable city agenda, but itโs because most of the attention is focused on other issues (homelessness and rightfully housing). #sfpol#sf
@scott i just wanna go graffiti his parklet with something like:
ยซ itโs not the bike lane, the food is just bad ยป
but that would be crass since Iโve never eaten there.
Absolutely ridiculous to go on a hunger strike over thisโฆ
Kansas and New Mexico recorded one new infected dairy farm each. That brings the total number of H5N1-infected dairy farms in the US to 15, according to USDA.
My conspiracy theory is that the rich and powerful know that climate change is coming no matter what so they are doing everything in their power to lead us to war so they can trim down the roving hoards of plebeians precisely before civilization goes to shit. #climate#conspiracy
Mayor Breed nominated Lydia So โ who currently serves on the SFMTA Board of Directors โ for the Planning Commission. If So is appointed by the Board of Supervisors, a seat on the SFMTA Board would open up.
This begs the question: Who would be a good nominee for the SFMTA Board?
Itโs raining hard on the precise day I need to bike from City College to the Legion of Honorโฆ
As we say in french, only the idiots get wet in the rain ๐คช (la pluie de mouille que les cons)
Worst ride everโฆ
It hailed on me twice and a Recs and Parks truck pushed me out of a ped/bike path in GGPโฆ they were using it as a shortcut to get out of the parkโฆ
@paul get a scanner and do mixed media: sketching and inking on paper, scan then do color work and textures on your computer.
Cheap Wacom tablets are nice though. I use the one I bought 7 years ago all the time now.
