For my next trick I am going to try to go out and not be Mad in public. There’s a jazz gig at our local hotel and some of our friends are going. It’s just a ten minute walk away so if I start to cry or panic I can just run home. I hope it will be relaxing but you never know.

Good morning. We haven’t got it too bad, but #StormCiaran is dumping lots of sky juice on us. It was raining heavily every time I woke up in the night and it’s absolutely pouring this morning, the wind however is not as strong as I’d anticipated. I’m not looking forward to going into town later but I have a dentist’s appointment so I must. Miss Cinnamon is deeply unimpressed by the wet conditions but would still rather go out in the rain to do her business than use her litter tray. I just have bits and pieces of work to do, nothing very interesting. How are my countrypeople coping with the weather?

Finished work for the day. I got a lot done but now I’m struggling to find the motivation to run, even though I was looking forward to it earlier. It’s partly that I’ve already closed all three rings on my Apple Watch so part of me is thinking maybe I don’t need to bother. So while we were away we booked our Caribbean trip for next year, four nights on Barbados and 7 on Saint Vincent. For St V we’ve gone for a secluded suite with a terrace, it’s much more than we would normally spend, but we will be celebrating 20 years as a couple, so we thought we would treat ourselves. 20 years is a long time!

I complimented our restaurant hostess this morning on how well her wrap dress suited her figure and she was absolutely thrilled. It really made her morning. I seem to be going through a little period of late (for me) nights. Usually I struggle to stay awake past 9pm, if not 8.30pm; last night I was up until gone 11pm and it’s the same tonight. I wish it was all more predictable and reasonable, can’t my body/brain meet in the middle and crash at 10pm?

Just looked up how I would get to Orkney to visit the friend I met yesterday without flying. It would take 1 day 1 hour by train to get the Thurso to catch the ferry to the islands, going Wales to London, London to Edinburgh, then to Aberdeen, then change at Inverness for Thurso. Hmm
