@a1ba Random question, but someone boosted a post of yours, and I noticed the UUID as your name. I’m curious about the story behind it (if there is one), since it doesn’t follow the standard. 🙂

(I’m not here to point out that it’s wrong, or anything like that. I’m just curious.)

I’ve been at a loss for words over seeing Nikki Haley sign bombs. There is no moral or ethical argument to justify that behavior. It is despicable, and if you think in any way that it’s humorous, you are part of the problem.

It’s so difficult (and expensive) to run a server for my own domain. Is it worth it?

I started out wanting to support Matrix, and I've set up a number of channels for my community on Matrix, but everything happens on Discord and IRC right now, and we have a bridge between Discord and IRC, but we can't bridge to Matrix at the moment, so is it even worth it to keep maintaining a separate Matrix presence?

If not, I’m just gonna shut it down. I don’t want to spend the money.

So, no surprise to anyone, but ’s assistant gives incorrect information about their services.

It told me that it’s possible to move a volume to a different region by first creating a snapshot of the volume and then creating it as a new volume in the other region. This is apparently incorrect. No big loss for me, but I can’t imagine trusting that service with any other data/storage-related questions.

A single-user #Matrix #Synapse server should not require so many resources to run. 1 vCPU and 1 GB of RAM should be plenty.

So, why did Matrix decide to create a brand new federated communications spec over working with XMPP? https://autonomous.zone/@bamfic/112516709699999473

I’m interested in running (i.e., ) as the app server for a website. The website has multiple domains pointing to it, and I plan to run this in a cluster. Can someone point to any docs or blog posts that show how others have set up similar configurations with Caddy or FrankenPHP, especially with regard to how Caddy magically configures HTTPS for the domains in this kind of setup?

Who in the Libertarian party thought it would be a good idea to even entertain the thought putting Trump on their stage? And who in the Trump campaign also thought it was a good idea?

Why do IDEs always default the terminal to the bottom of the screen? I’m always—always—going to move it to right side of the screen. No matter what. Am I the only one who does this?

I’d love to see a behind-the-scenes or making-of for . How do they put it together in such a tight, well-made package. There don’t appear to be many cuts, and John Oliver’s hand motions and everything is so well-choreographed. Is he really that good, or do they practice this over and over?

@osi I sent an email to the license-discuss list (I’m a member of the list), but I can’t tell whether the list actually got it. It doesn’t show up in the archives (nothing from May is in the archives, but maybe no mail has been sent this month?): https://lists.opensource.org/pipermail/license-discuss_lists.opensource.org/

Who should I contact to find out if the message was actually received? Maybe there’s moderation happening, and no one has approved it yet?
