On June 14, the fishing trawler Adriana sank in the Ionian Sea off the Greek coast. The migrants were crammed aboard the overcrowded vessel when it sank. Although 82 bodies were recovered, it is believed that hundreds of people drowned in the most horrific circumstances. There were only 104 survivors, and none of them were women and children.
