#ThrowbackThursday & story time (sorry for writing such a long toot 🫣)

I was on the west-side of Jacksonville today for my chest x-ray. (I'll get results/details at my next appointment, on June 5th)

Perfect opportunity to take a nostalgic trip around the neighborhood where I met my very first boyfriend ever! 🥰

I didn't come out openly until I was in the process of leaving the Navy after my 20 years.

During the late 90's I began to seek out LGBTQIA+ places.

One night at a popular bar in the 5-Points area I explained to the girl hitting on me that I was gay but didn't know any other queer people. She suggested a few places in the Riverside neighborhood. And as they say, the rest, plus gay dot com, is history! 🤣

At a gay bar she recommended (3-D, now called InCahoots) an older gentleman suggested I check out a place called The Boot Rack.

The bartender that night at The Boot Rack was named Todd. We quickly hit it off. He asked me out, and when I said yes, he kissed me! My first kiss from another gay man! 🥰

We were together almost 5 years, and were great friends even after we separated.

Here's 1990's Bryan at the Boot Rack collecting Todd after his shift one night. Someone snapped the photo and gave it to us. Back when pics were developed and printed on photo paper! 🤣

The second photo is one of my favorites of Todd. He was the kindest, most gentle soul I've ever known! 🥰🙏❤️

The third photo I took this afternoon at The Boot Rack, incredibly still going strong, having survived lockdown! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Two posts were reported ... neither were from hugs.lgbt posts ... one was a reply to one of my posts by a mutual, the other was a post by that mutual without any hugs.lgbt involvement ...

Did I receive the report because one of those was a reply to a post of mine?

But why the other one?

Also very confused as to why ... the first was a thank you reply to a post from me.

The other was a meme.

The category was "other" but no notes or any other information that I could discern 🤔 🤷‍♂️

I think I've missed a setting somewhere, is there a place in the current Android App to show the full image in-feed (without clicking), or is that coming down the line in the future? 🤔

Noticed today that some of the tight frames, or especially tall/long shots, get 'cropped' in the feed-view - although are still fully intact if you click on them .

If this is necessary for app limitations, could we have an icon display in the corner as an indicator to "click for full view" ?

Something I should add to the GitHub?

this morning downtown

yeah, I know, I haven't gotten any better at videos ... atleast the scenery is pretty 😉🫣

Brief video of the sights as sunrise approaches over the Saint Johns River. Standing on the pedestrian crossing of the Acosta Bridge, and turning a full 360° to see the colorful downtown skyline, with several skyscrapers illuminated in blue against yellow, orange, and red bands of color from the sun approaching the horizon. Turning from one shoreline in front, following the outline of another bridge further down the river, then to the opposite shoreline with it's own skyscrapers, then turning to face the oncoming portion of the bridge and then the shorelines in reverse order, now with whispy purple clouds in a blue sky over the river, following the bridge back to the original position and passing the long thin neon blue light down the center of the bridge.

I took the earliest bus available downtown so I could watch the sunrise before going to the doctor appointment and now have some time to kill 🤪🤪🤪

made a few short videos of the sights ... I'm not a videographer, so apologies for the amateur attempt 🤭😂

Short clip starts looking at the rocky shoreline where I'm standing, you briefly see my tiny feet in white sneakers. Then the camera moves up over the nearly quiet river waters, softly splashing on the rocks, to a large bridge with a purple neon tube-light running the length of the bridge, over the wide river. Beyond the bridge is a portion of the downtown skyline with very tall buildings beneath a pink and blue sky as the sunrise approaches, beyond the city skyline.
