Sometimes, animals come into your life unexpectedly, and so it was with this 14 year old chihuahua many years ago.

She had horrible teeth issues, and we had to remove a few. It always looked like she was snarling because of that.

Even tho we only had a few years with her, I don't regret a single moment of care we gave her, and the love we got back.

@box464 We inherited Daughter's Chigi at an advanced age on both sides. Poor thing takes care of us as best she can.

There is language within the US CDC's biosafety guidance suggesting that the airborne nature of SARS-CoV-2 is not what is being denied by the WHO's March 11 biosafety downgrade, but the intrinsic severity of the pathogen:

Under BSL-2, for pathogens with "moderate hazards to personnel and the environment ... all procedures in which infectious aerosols or splashes may be created are conducted in [biosafety cabinets] or other physical containment equipment"

They are doubling down on covid = mild

shonin,

Did someone call my Wilderness First Aid into the cops? Yes, yes, at least 3 people did in panic. We relocated elsewhere shortly after this. 🙃😂 (students get an "A" in "looking like a victim in need for first aid")

shonin,
@shonin@mastodon.world avatar

@ai6yr Love it!

An entire station full of cops was called on me one time when I followed my coach's instruction to take the rifle and spotting scope from the armory to the indoor range one block away. I suppose they took it seriously because Lester Maddox was being sworn in a few blocks beyond there; neither of us had thought about that. Poor Lester! I spilled chocolate milk on him once quite by accident. He was very good about it.

I'm probably preaching to the choir here, but if you know someone who has a chronic health problem, and they mention it to you, that's not an invitation to suggest 20 different quick fixes. Odds are, they've already tried all of them and about 200 more you've never even heard of. It takes energy to swat down superfluous suggestions, and that's something chronically ill folks are often short on. Don't add to it. If we want advice or troubleshooting, we will ask directly.
