Was just browsing bsky’s open feed to see how that works and within 3 clicks I was back on mstdn :blobhappy:

To be honest I find Bsky still so messy, not only the code build up but also the platform itself

My guess is that people find it ‘more easy’ compared to Mastodon for example because you’ll be signing up on their server by default

Not sure if that’s a good thing though

@stux IME the sticking point for all my friends as to why they are not here is the multiple servers; I try to explain that that's our refuge from capital capture and therefore the thing we must both live with and defend, but no-o-o, It'S tOo HaRd.

@ai6yr @ClimateJenny A rotary might actually connect? Or does the rotary signal even work over the lines now? For years I have been hanging onto landline phones that I knew would work in a power outage. Not any more, but that's about connecting to the modem.

My dad used to maintain the tel exchange room at the Georgia Railroad. He would take me in the room, point to a thing like a ratchet that would start clanking down from the top and say, "there's the boss making a call now."
