@johnnyryan Hard agree - and is not only a threat to our personal liberties, but potentially also to national security. You and the ICCL have done great work on this, including Patternz report with @wchr showing how these businesses categorize people into ie "Intelligence and counterterrorism" or "Military & Protective Services—Senior".
Coupled with Haaretz' reporting on spy tech using adtech shows how problematic this already is.

This paper is really important, presenting empirical evidence of the imbrication bet. AI & the surveillance biz model. This is notable particularly given that most production surveillance tech is proprietary, its existence and use hidden from the public.

Snart ti år i Bodø og jeg har aldri vært på . A man needs to have a code, og ett av mine er at jeg drar på musikkfestivaler for musikken. Når denne festivalen blir utsolgt uten at de har sluppet programmet, har det aldri vært for meg.

Det endrer seg kanskje nå. De har booka Pixies! The Cardigans! I tillegg kommer Motorpsycho, Susanne Sundfør, Ásgeir og Honningbarna. Da må man kanskje bare godta et publikum som virker mest opptatt av fest og kjentfolk.

Thinking about one of my favourite things: the ancient art kintsugi or kintsukuroi (golden joinery or repair) — embracing imperfections and the transcient nature of objects by repairing broken pottery with resin mixed with powdered gold.

Instead of hiding wear and breakage, it emphasises the imperfections and the end result is something truly unique.

Staying as far away from techbro feudalist societies seem like a better idea by the day, both for my own sanity and for us to preserve democratic societies in a rules-based international order. The last one can be read somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but I really believe this to be true

@strypey Always had huge respect for and much of his geopolitical analysis, but IMHO he has had a fall from grace after invaded .
His world-view seem so often to center around 'Murica bad', so for him to say that "The UN Charter ... bars all the activities that the US carries out" - Really? ALL of it?

This diminishes the worth of his actual good and important work

Woah, @trunksapp now present the choice between reading as-is or 'unroll as article' when reading threaded toots.

Great for readability and long-form reading (if say, you for instance follow @pluralistic), although this clashes hard with my commitment issues.

New changes also allow sorting comments between chronological, best or controversial. Latter is a given for any toot 😁

Overall great changes!

Ok, after a few days with a pre-production version of the @murena 2, here is my first impressions video!

It’s a solidly built device, running @e_mydata, a degoogled, privacy focused ROM based on Lineage, and it has privacy switches to physically disconnect the camera and mic, and shut down the network.

Thanks for the video Nick, really nice to get an overview of the phone and see it being used.

It is tempting, but I want and need only one phone, and not having 5G just might be a dealbreaker for me. Might just order the @Fairphone from @murena with @e_mydata instead :)

According to their Kickstarter they will "offer spare parts and share schematics for easy repair" and are "currently looking to appoint partners for repairs".

So yeah, no availability in most general repair shops I guess, would have to order or send device to repair partners.

But is availability for other phones better, ie the Fairphone? I thought I would have to order parts or send that too somewhere for repairs

@perelling de eneste appene jeg så langt ikke har fått til å fungere er Æ og Vipps.

I Æ mislykkes innloggingen, jeg antar fordi den ser etter Chrome for å logge inn.

Men Vipps er litt mer kritisk. Fungerte det med en gang hos deg, eller måtte du ty til triks? Her snurrer bare hjulet rundt og rundt etter signering med Bank-ID.
