Today was the first day of in , so I went to the local Metro (Beechwood Ave), and after wandering the store, was absolutely flummoxed to discover that nearly everything we regularly purchase was less expensive at our local Loblaws (Rideau St).

I didn't see that coming. After thinking about it a bit, I suspect it might have to do with the location of the Metro (Beechwood/Rockliffe is well-to-do).

Will have to look at a map and see where the next closest one is. 🤔

@WTL You're in such a black hole of grocery stores... that Metro is super expensive, it's crazy. We're lucky to have a Fresh Co nearby now

If public servants have to go back to the office 3 days a week... Do they finally get back what they had before 2020?

  • an assigned cubicle?
  • a locker to put their personal items?
  • two monitors when needed?
  • on-site keyboards and mice?
  • a bedbug and bat free office? (haha joke, that never happened, even before 2020)

So we are going to have public servants downtown 3+ days a week now. Okay. How is Ottawa and the province helping them get in and out? On my way home on a ho-hum Wednesday afternoon I was walking faster than the line of personal vehicles trapped on O'Connor. Can we not provide better, more affordable transit first?

@kdorse There's not even enough desks for everyone to be there 3+ days a week (especially if you count all the floors closed for bedbugs, and bats, etc.).

    @Auxonic @ShaunOttawa We have the same problem on our side, all contractors to fill in the gaps. So they're trying to "help" us by using automatic translation instead and changing our job. Seriously... then they wonder why people leave or are sick.

    We're idiots and I have anxiety. We misunderstood each other, meters confused us with the trees, and I didn't fight back thinking Kyle knew better than me lol

    We definitely don't have space for two of the three trees we bought yesterday 🫠

    We'll have nice trees to donate (anyone? Lol).

    We'll keep the magnolia, and we got a dappled willow, a weeping larch and a dwarf Korean lilac instead. We feel stupid, but much better with our new choices.

    As I said, we're idiots.
