It's almost election season and I see so many people are finally waking up to the dilemma of consistently "voting for the lesser of two evils" has brought us. I said this in 2016 when I decided to not vote for Clinton or Trump, I said it again in 2020 when I decided not to vote for Biden or Trump.

Every single time I was derided and said, "lesser of two evils is still evil." Everyone said "settle for Biden." This is exactly what settling has brought us.

@Cassandra Yes! Finances are not my specialty. And House committees have rules (writing and translating) that are different than debates (and different from the Senate and the Senate committees).. it's a whole thing.

@msquebanh I would never, ever, think of telling you "But you have to vote for Trudeau, even though your lived experience under him, because this even more terrible thing will probably happen under Poilievre.

This is not convincing anyone, and it's also very dismissive of what you're going through right now. I do try to make it better under the other parties instead.

Yoghurt making started this morning.

Our little 8-container yoghurt incubator works well for the Canadian bagged-milk situation. When I have one container left, I heat up a single bag's volume of milk (1.3 L) then let it cool. That volume plus the last container dumped in to inoculate the batch makes exactly 8 full containers again. A continuous loop.

Maybe I should rethink this whole "inviting my parents in May every year".

First year, the yard at the first house had just been excavated, so we could barely go outside. Second year was the derecho (we thankfully didn't lose any electricity).

This year? The patio crew was delayed so they'll be working in the backyard of the new house when my parents arrive on Friday ๐Ÿ˜†

@augieray I know it's not everyone who says that but.. from what I've seen, there are a LOT of people who complain about Biden (for very good reasons), but will still vote for him when it comes to it, because they do know that Trump would be worse.

I think it's healthy to demand better from our leaders.

Almost all of them end up being hateful towards other group and whine about the instance instead.

A whole bunch of people in my organization have started using a huge font in their emails for accessibility reasons as if programs don't have built in font handling that make them more accessible for their users.

As someone with attention problems, I find it very hard to read for the opposite reason because it's too big and makes it hard to focus.

It is beyond wild to me that the city cut annual funding to the Tulip Festival. Yaโ€™ll are baffled on how to connect Dows Lake and the Byward Market?? Seriously?? The NCC couldnโ€™t even close all of the QED, but no shade to them when they are responsible for any livability in #ottawa The festival weekends at Dows Lake are the best weekends in this city in the entire year and props to the Feds #onpoli #cdnpoli
