Eeeeyargh! Here I was feeling terrible this morning (took a muscle relaxant to deal with the crippling muscle spasms, and those knock me out for days. I take about 2.5 mg, and that's ALL I need). And then friends called, and I actually started feeling better, but our comms kept breaking up, dammit. Is there a major solar flare today, or something?

Anyway, I'm not compos mentis today, and not very awake, either. Plus my muscles are still extremely relaxed, so I'm moving like a slug.

Folks, this woman had COVID THREE TIMES, and she's "surprised" she had a stroke. What are people not getting? How can we convince them that your carotid artery doesn't just "self-dissect" because you're old, despite being "in great shape (from) running every day?" Awake early for a change bc I am in so much pain that I could chew thru my own intestines, but I can't bend that far. I just took OTC pain meds, but this is ridiculous. I can't be on pain meds 24/7, I might as well just give up and put a bullet thru my brain (also not an option, the sight of blood makes me puke).

Worked out today. The injured knee is from about a month ago, but it's still feeling weirdly unstable, a bit puffy, and out of sorts. I'm going to keep exercising and icing, I'm getting really annoyed by this body being in such terrible shape, I've worked hard most of my life to keep it healthy, and now it's acting like it doesn't know me. An ass-kicking is called for.

Just watched Barbie, and I'm more impressed than I thought I would be. While the pastel neon is, um, difficult, it was a very clever film, well made, well-written, excellent script, dialogue, development, brilliant satire and use of effects. I totally see why she didn't win the expected kudos for the first person to make a billion-dollar-grossing film. The bite of her satire is WAY too much for snowflake mens to handle.

I'm off to work out in the interest of not falling on my face or ass every time I try to walk. I hate exercise, but last year, I COULDN'T exercise for about 7 months due to jaw surgery and eye surgery, and you get old, and just can't catch up any more. So I'm working extra hard for the next few months. If I don't survive, just leave me a note saying "You made a great, muscular corpse!" I'm easy, I'll buy that.

I know I just have to be calm and wait for Izzles to come home, but I'm anxious. It's cold and gray and wet out there, and Izzy's lost so much weight I can feel all his bones. Anxiety isn't going to help anyone. Juju has now come upstairs and is lying at my feet staring at the front door downstairs, and periodically throwing me a dirty look or two. I'm already feeling guilty enough, even though I had to stand with him for about 20 minutes while he ate.

I love making sag paneer and substituting firm tofu for the paneer. I use black mustard seeds, kalonji, and dried red chilies with spinach and tomatoes and some red onion for sweetness, and add the (pressed, salted) tofu after the spinach has been processed into a smooth and tasty comestible. I can eat it with dal and rice. I always said I could eat a vegetarian diet if it was Indian and African food. The vegetarian/vegan food of this country bores me.
