This post by @louie has caught me exactly the right way.
Before reading this, I would just barge into people’s conversations on social media with not a lot to add (mostly just dumb observations). Ruining their flow.
After reading, I still do that sometimes but 90% of the times I’ll think of something, and then ask myself if I’m contributing anything to the conversation. I still make mistakes (see my recent reply about a pencil) but it helped me reflect on myself more.

    There's an event that I'm going to in a few weeks.

    But there's also events either side of it, in the same area, which I would like to go to. It's about a 3 hour trip each way, each time + fuel + hotels + food + tickets.

    I'm not sure I can do it all this year.

    I’m having one of those good problems to have, but Hand Mirror has seen a spike in downloads (top downloaded utility in over 16 countries) and I have no idea why.

    I would have happily paid for the Arc browser even a few months ago, but they’ve gone so ‘tech bro’ recently with their cringy videos about another £50m VC cash infusion etc and boring AI fluff that I’ve just stopped using it entirely at the moment. Just need a browser to get stuff done in, I don’t need an ‘internet computer’ or whatever buzzword guff is being spouted this week.

    @andyn @vincentritter That's depressing. It's a legitimately good browser and it would work even better on an iPad. They seem like legitimately smart and good people. But this AI shit is so sad and I wish they'd have taken a different stance… This company's videos are one big identity crisis.

    Currently working on sharing my full Home Screen setup for members.

    Turns out it’s quite hard with a complex setup, because it’s impossible to capture in a static screenshot.

    Understanding the depth requires photoshopping out every individual widget so you can see the full stack 😅

    @matthewcassinelli I have the same problem! I have 1 page with 1 giant Large widgets stack (so basically everything I want to do or see is a swipe and tap away) and 1 Everything shortcut in the Dock. I want to post about it but how do you show the full stack…

    @cory Thanks for that checklist! It reflects a lot of what I'm looking for atm with needing structure in my life. Is this a brain dump or an actual checklist you're following? In that case, is there a special tool you're using that works for you?

    I could dump it all into Things but… that's a lot to reorder every frickin' day haha

    @cory Thanks for that :) Things can definitely improve repeated tasks! One of my biggest issues now is I will grow immune to calendar alerts and if an appointment isn't with anyone else, I just won't do it. I'm blind to it.

    For almost 2 years I've been using Routinery to help guide me through many of my routines, like each day on my shower routine. Maybe you'll enjoy that as well. It keeps me focused on what I'm doing. (Let me know if you like it as I have a 12-month gift code I can give away.)

    The only developmental thing I do nowadays is make Shortcuts, but seeing all these cool implementations like X:florianvates’s Mindr app show me how much different it is from designing and developing for screens.

    The biggest thing I see folks getting wrong about is to imagine that it's just a great volume for placing two dimensional surfaces.

    And that's like imagining television as a way for seeing the people who read your radio plays.

    I mean, sure, you can do it, but you're barely using the power of the new medium.

    The real opportunity is that Vision Pro is a holographic simulator that allows developer code to reason about the user’s 3D reality.

    Integrating that opportunity is the work.

    The catch all feature of iCloud+ custom domains is pretty great. I’m going to forward my gmail and outlook accounts all to iCloud and use just that moving forward (which is probably a bad idea due to the shocking search). One thing that put me off was remembering all the custom domains and stuff but I can just use gmail@domain and outlook@domain as the forwarding address and I’m off to the races.
