ok im not going to go into big details, but here are things they need to be corrected on

  • progesterone does, in fact, work, and does not have a blood clot risk
  • estrogen monotherapy works
  • your bones can change over time, a bit
  • finasteride and dutasteride are not T-blockers, they only block DHT, a byproduct of T and will not help you on their own
  • breast growth does not stop after three years
  • spending your life on just spiro, no E, is actually dangerous as hell, don't fucking do that if you like having bones

they should be ashamed of themselves. spread this if you care about the transfems in your life

the replies so far have been absolutely fantastic, with people going WAY more in depth than i did. so i wanted to list a few more things and provide some resources.

  • they didnt mention cyproterone acetate or bicalutamide. cypro is the standard anti-androgen instead of spiro in most non-US parts of the world, and bical is a neat up-and-coming AA that im not personally too educated on. this video was very US-centric in a disturbing way.
  • the progesterone risk is only for some very specific, very rare formulations (norpregnane-derived progestins (norethindrone, norgestrel)), not what you are likely to be prescribed or given, and prog is considered a safe medication, but if you are concerned you can avoid those formulations.
  • blood clot risk does exist with high E doses, but that's a separate matter and again im not a doctor. i know i personally am at risk for this and need to keep my bp under control.
  • they fucked up a lot of trans masc stuff too (birth control is not hrt-lite!!!!) and one of yall may want to do a post on that

@queue i usually queue up a buncha bumpers and interstitials then shuffle them, then i randomly put chunks of them between a few hours worth of music then fine-tune the between-song sections as it's going
