Interesting phishing attempt? Or something else? (lemmy.world)

This appears to be a legitimate email from google regarding an attempt to use my password to log into google. Sent to an old AOL account i keep for trash. They used the first half of my AOL address with an @googlemail.com, which is close to a googlemail address i actually have and asks me to log in to verify the activity....

walter_wiggles,

If you message me your Google password then I’ll check for you. That way you won’t be at risk for catching a virus. You can never be too careful these days.

walter_wiggles,

They literally don’t care. Don’t tell them “the truth”, don’t tell them “what’s wrong with the company”, nothing. Just say you’ve enjoyed working there and if things turn around you’d be open to coming back.

The best outcome for an exit interview is you leave on good terms so you can use them in the future if necessary. You never know when you’ll need a reference.

Again, any criticism or negativity you bring to the exit interview will just be used against you. You’ll be labeled as disgruntled, or whiny, or just didn’t have what it takes. And that will cut you off from using them in the future if you need to.

walter_wiggles,

Destroy corporate healthcare by curing diabetes.

walter_wiggles,

Pretty accurate except for the giving money part.

walter_wiggles,

Huh I keep hearing the economy is actually doing well. I guess it’s just the people in the economy that are suffering.

walter_wiggles,

Uhhhh sorry I’m still going to vote against fascism.

walter_wiggles,

Yeah but it’s just going to get better at magicking. Soon all us wizards will be out of a job…

iPhones And Androids Can Now Warn You of 'Secret Trackers' (www.ibtimes.co.uk)

In a collaborative effort, Apple and Google have developed an industry-standard detection feature called “Detecting Unwanted Location Trackers” (DULT) for Bluetooth trackers. This standard allows users on iOS and Android devices to be alerted if an unknown Bluetooth tracker is monitoring their location.

walter_wiggles,

I wonder what it will be like on a long flight with this feature: there is an army of unknown Bluetooth items moving with you.

walter_wiggles,

I think the problem is that it should be standard, but the LinkedIn poster is talking about it like her company is SO generous.

walter_wiggles,

What’s the connection between those items and cops?

walter_wiggles,

Lesson learned: always use your girlfriend’s browser to look up how to do crime.

walter_wiggles,

Yep, turn that knobby dial looking thing to tighten/loosen.

walter_wiggles,

I asked AI to summarize the article since it’s paywalled. It didn’t say anything about lying, should I trust it?

walter_wiggles,

A hammer and some dish soap should do the trick.

walter_wiggles,

A problem was admitted, but there’s no one alive.

walter_wiggles,

It’s me guys, I did climate change. I said I would stop, but single-use straws at Starbucks are just too damn convenient. I see the error of my ways now and I’m going to commit to a 50% reduction over the next 8 years. I think you’re really going to be happy with the results, things are definitely looking greener.
