Loop video urls will be super short!

ex: loops.video/v/5jM_jMRGuYbLc

Notice no username? That's because we plan to support username changes ✨

TheFederatedPipe,

@dansup How does this works out with other software like Mastodon? To my understanding, mastodon doesn't allow you to change username.

Will a notice like when you move your account be added it?

@fediverse Is this a title ?

So... Theoretically this should be visible from Lemmy. Hi Lemmy users ! Greeting from Mastodon !
(Im never leaving the fediverse if this works)

TheFederatedPipe,

@PlasticPigeon I agree with you, and understand what you are trying to say, you are right. The projects could work in a better integration with one another, but this is hard, and not every project is willing to do so, specially when they are different format of content. The works thanks to the collaboration, and free work from many volunteers, so is not that easy. Obviously, I would love if mastodon supported long formatted posts from and , and not just a link to the post, better format from groups/communities/magazines, and I would love to see lemmy supporting following users.

And then there are those that defederate from their own kind / federated social network, splintering the Fediverse even further apart.

Because the (or the as some folks call it) is open, everyone can create a server, block users they don't want to interact with, and block servers they don't want to interact nor have a copy of their content. Each server has their own rules, you can even create your own, but don't be surprised if other servers block your server, you are still free to say what you want there, and they are free to block you.

This is what makes the Fediverse so frustrating.

For me, this is incredible, this comment was send from replying to another comment made from , and said comment is replying to a post send from to a lemmy community. This is mind blowing, you can even comment to some websites out there.

I follow: communities from lemmy, magazines from kbin, mastodon users, pixelfed users, flipboard accounts, firefish users, and users from friendica.

Could it be better? Absolutely, we could learn from other alternatives out there, and upgrading the protocol for better features.

TheFederatedPipe,

@PlasticPigeon Good to know it worked for you, never have tried though. For me is really good, and I don't see myself not using it in the future.

I have to play around with federated comments a bit!

This has been the most moving scene for me.

Do you agree? If not, drop yours!

TheFederatedPipe,

@Thenerdyverseofmadness This scene will always be in my heart. Whenever I see Nami wearing Luffy's hat (in canon, official arts, or fan arts), I'm happy.

Many fans try to dismiss the moment when Luffy gives his hat to Nami, because "other people have wear it", forgetting the meaning behind the action, in how when Nami is dubious, crying or anxious Oda uses the hat in a way to give hope to Nami.

So, it definitely made an impact, whenever she talks about Luffy, this is one moment comes to her mind, I love how she went from hating pirates, to trusting her live to a pirate. The is like a link between and , at least how I see it. <3

TheFederatedPipe,

@Thenerdyverseofmadness

This was so well written!

This made me so happy! :) English is not my first language, because of this, I'm really insecure when I write something.

It's all about the emotional metaphor and what that means

Yes. Sometimes, I feel like a lot of fans don't really care about these things, sadly. Another thing that came to my mind just now, is an scene in a movie or special, where Nami tells to a kid: "I really hated pirates, but Luffy is not like other pirates", something along those lines. Something that the Live Action emphasized with Luffy saying "I'm a different kind of pirate" and Nami reaction to this, just like in the manga when Luffy fights for Chouchou (the dog at orange town) and the Black Cats Pirates, you can see how Nami notices this and is progressively changing her opinion about Luffy.

I just love them. hahah

TheFederatedPipe,

@Thenerdyverseofmadness If you already watched that scene, you have already seem what happend with Chouchou and at the end of the fight with the Black Cat Pirates. The movie I mentioned is not canon, the same could be said about the Live Action, just a detail that I like.

Anyways, enjoy the ride!

That Dressrosa arc was long, but good.

TheFederatedPipe,

@haploc Dressrosa is one of my favorite arcs in . Is the second longest arc of the series! The anime has a bigger issue with the pacing in this arc, making it feel even longer. What did you liked the most? One of my favorite thing of Dressrosa (and in OnePiece in general), are the flashbacks, and have many of my favorites: Law and Corazón, Señor Pink, Doflamingo, Kyros, Belamy and more. And not get me started in the characters that I love because of this arc.

Ngl I’m a little confused on how this works for the most part but I am interested putting my One Piece hyper fixation into urusai

TheFederatedPipe,

@tiger_lily420 Welcome from another fan! It seems you have already gotten help. But I would recommend not to think too much about it to the point you feel overwhelmed, just use it as you would on other social media. :D You will learn as you keep using it.

Are you up to date with OnePiece? I see you are a enjoyer too! ;-)

TheFederatedPipe,

@tiger_lily420 Don't feel the pressure to caught up, take it at your own pace, I really like the Arabasta Arc, so, enjoy the ride!

I believe in the agenda of pirate queen nami too. XD, Let's hope everything turns out good for you. :D

How does the Mastoversr feel about the Netflix remake with

TheFederatedPipe,

@mrpablington Really excited about it! I caught up with the story with the anime and after discovering projects like and hearing issues people have with the anime, it made me wonder when a remake will be made. I was expecting something like 5 years after the original anime ends, but here we are.

A friend of mine said that the reason he haven't watched is because of how the early episodes look, others, because is over a 1000 chapters/episodes. After the news, they have said they will give a chance when it comes out, so I genuinely believe this will brake even more the breach for new fans.

Anyone else use an feed reader for instead of the official site?

TheFederatedPipe,

@asteroidrainfall for the win! My internet browsing is mostly done through RSS. I personally subscribe to channels with or instead of youtube.com.

@Gargron@mastodon.social avatar

If for whatever reason you never wish to interact with , you can personally block it for your account. This hides all posts and profiles from Threads, prevents anyone from Threads from following you, and stops your posts from being delivered to or fetched by Threads. Simply click the "Block domain threads.net" option on any Threads profile or post you see in Mastodon.

TheFederatedPipe,

@tasket If they want to all your information, they will, it is publicly available on the internet. Wouldn't be surprised if they already did it with their AI. No, it does not matter if you add no index to your robots.txt or profile.

Scrapers gonna scrape, goes brbrbr.

It's time to address the elephant in the room, or actually Threads

As many of you may know Threads went live in Europe and with that they started testing federation with the Fediverse

At this point there is a choice to make

  1. Block Threads on instance level, that will take away the choice for each person

  2. Do not block and let people block if they want to(1 search and 2 clicks)

After much consideration and talks I think we need to go with option 2 and let people decide for themselves

TheFederatedPipe, (edited )

@stux This is the way. I think people are overreacting about threads, ActivityPub is an open protocol, no one owns the network and anyone can join. You don't want to interact with them? Join an instance that is not federated with them or block the domain, the protocol allows you to. Let people enjoy things, many will love to follow their friends or favorite creators without having to go to threads.net directly or any other centralize service, and this open the possibility to even follow an account through on threads more easily. The truth is, people don't care about centralization, ads, algorithms, they love them.

We are less than 1% of meta user base, it is not like they are hungry for a few millions of user in the fediverse as fedi users are making it seems to be, when they have billions across their services, and alone have more than the whole in a couple of months.

If they later decide to eliminate from their services, the fediverse will remain the same as it is right now, used for people who are considered techie.

So I’m nearly halfway through watching One Piece. Why do I get the feeling that Boa Hancock is going to convince Luffy to marry her the same way Chi Chi convinced Goku: by telling him that their wedding will include a feast? 😂

TheFederatedPipe,

@jcalexandrewrites No, I think those are filler episodes, what I mean happened in canon, if I'm not wrong, is around 500ish. Do not search for it, be careful, you will probably end up spoiling yourself huge stuff for the plot.
