I've been exploring the fediverse and subbing and posting all over the damn place. Realizing lemmy can federate with kbin blew my mind. Not to mention the possibility of turning my old laptop into a personal server to host my own instance. Is this what it felt like to discover how the internet worked in the 90s?
When I click a federated link my web browser goes to the other site. How can I view it from kbin?
Basically the title. I want to click the link to a lemmy site or whatever and it shows up within kbin.
When I click "all magazines" and sort by active, it's just a bunch of zero comment zero thread posts.
I imagine it's because "active" is showing recently created zines. That's a poor algorithm for what is actually active. It should be based on number of comments and threads. It's making it very difficult to find hip places I might want to subscribe to.
Someone wanna actually made a description and stuff and promote? If not I'll do it.
If someone wants to hand the reigns over to me I'll gladly run this community. Right now it just looks like a bullshit placeholder.

So ive had a phone for a bit now but i struggle at finding game sand apps to put on it especially free ones. its kinda mid range dphone it cant run genshin impact at all but it runs stuff like battle cats really well i also struggle at finding good or useful apps to download so if you know any please suggest some or something.

I've been trying to make people aware of Lemmy on discord and Mastodon, but it's always met with resistance citing "the devs are pro authoritarianism tankies." Kbin seems to be picking up steam because of the developer baggage....
Since we are seeing a lot more porn post I think it's clear Kbin is here to stay.
Porn has always been a driving force of new technologies. While Kbin isn't a new technology per se I would say it's a indication that the community is here to stay.

I recently got a 4k TV and so I'm really wanting to watch movies in 4k. They take up so much space that I can't really put them on a flashdrive to watch, and as there aren't any piracy streaming sites with 4k content I was thinking about using an old PC to make a media server on either plex or jellyfin....
