@clueless_stoner it'd help if the fedverse was more seemeless. like in wow: realms, zones, and servers all crosstalk without any issue at all. I fail to get how somewhat less competitive but equally socially "challanged" group of people aka geeks and nerds. can't refactor the code to do so. or maybe that's in the works.
@Skovheks LOL yeah, "space visitors" aka astronauts. Often complain: on one hand they'd get horny af in space because of gravity and just being human. Assuming they figure out a way to commence docking procedures. The males parts would veer wildly between stiff and flexable. but womens not so much. And similarly the assembly process for a new kid...well stuff goes sideways pretty quickly from mutated workers on the way to mums factory (eggs, and etc) ok so now kiddo is in the building phase now what: well prepare for one of the weirdest looking most mal adjusted humans ever. I think NASA and chinase equivilant fairly well now think they'd have potential for be a smart effer though: turns out rotating as fast as the earth (weightlessness). meens the head could (theortically) be comfortable enormous same for the brain etc. the rest of the body would, well like you said: go to utter ass though.
@Spitz how do you not know john oliver? he's the guy that look lime a maniquin with a square head thick accent and a beack nose, used to be on john stewart, but now has his on show on hbo.
@LostCause their is it's called reddit, or tilde or squable. though untill such time as fedverse does something like WoW's phasing and how it had cross server chat. it'll be making 9999 clones and accounts because that makes sense.
@Ni first a smack upside the head for getting sucked into a project without end. and then i'm at a store next just a beer. I'm partial to steelhead from siera and madriver brewing.
I'm not sure if this is new, but when I clicked on the /r/pics protest post link from the frontpage here, I was redirected to this: https://old.reddit.com/premium...
@millions sounds like it. lol here's the shovel spez. lol keep digging buddy. not that reddit was especially great sometimes. but fuck me running I want slap the living shit out of both you motherfuckers. 10million or something socially inept assholes having a god dam meltdown because of a fucking app, get the fuck over yourselves, book a hotel room get shitfaced and stoned into next centery then go at it like a fucking rabbit. playing dumb, dumber, then car wreck with trucks and dick fucking over inocent users? thats the defination of immature ass fart.
@tst123 This. It's not because of a hissy fit over the worlds worst reddit app, or a bunch of honorless fucknuggets ruining shit for the rest of us. it's that they are or were on a oldschool shareware-esk model: pay for the fucking thing your leaching from. Fact is weather or not anyone likes it even fedverse needs money to keep the lights on.
I cannot put into words how profoundly stupid this "feature" is. AOL and Geocities pages were genuinely more user friendly. Whoever added it, refreshed the page and said "yeah, this works well" and left it in should be fired! ...out of a cannon and into the Sun!
@sadakos_left_nut lol I will slap the shit out of the next twat that wants "their pronouns" no. you are a dude/girl. and I will use correct english. You on the other hand get spanked so hard your mama chimp a billion years ago will feel it. now pull up your pants, and take your skirts off ladies. we only use 3 languages english, bad english, and pissed .
For a sub that’s supposed to promote Reddit alternatives, there sure is a lot of pessimism on there. I see so many people dismissing Lemmy and kbin already for being too inaccessible, the UI is clunky, it’s hard to pick up etc and saying these sites will never take off. But why? Of course a platform in its infancy will have...
@Awhiskeydrunker Or someone spins up a server/instance has the same, or worse, hissy fit that mods and reddit is having now and turns it off entirely. lemmy and mastodon have been around for a long time and the ui is still...weird (being nice) ie clunky af. with a ton of rube goldberg round about ways to log in to do w/e, and saturated with technobabble. Look at beehaw. A bunch of redditors just wanting a new home as bystanders of a tempertantrum mods and spez are having. Showed up, most just perfectly nice people I guess. and not a day latter beehaw is rejecting new users and doubled down on technobable and pasted their magnum carta long rambling philosophical stuff. making excuses to why. Having something that can seemlessly have a smart automatic way where spawns mirrors. So that it's more likely to have uptime, maybe a little like what kazza could do back in the day. That'd be cool af. But right now it's on temperamental socially maladjusted people to do that manually. Assuming they have more than one computer, and assuming it runs linux. Correct me that i'm wrong kbin and lemmy don't have simple .exes for lemmy and kbin.
That means its even more likely to turn into a complete debacle if/when people don't want to be cordial and politic,
Good morning! :) Today I want to focus mainly on reviewing the pull requests you've submitted. There are many great things there that will help improve the kbin experience. That's amazing, thank you! Im joining in on the reddit ditching thing, and was kinda worried at first that i wouldnt be able to like use it the way i did reddit as it feels like a whole new place, but after engaging with posts and people and actually being a part of lemmy rather than being lurk mode all the time i was pleasantly surprised with how easy it...
@Andreas right. all due to developers: no one fucking cares if your into a dead political system. frankly leave that shit at the door. and no one fucking cares about a fucking treatise about their happy shiny place like beehaw.world. just...be excellent to each other.
