maybe use a third party image hosting service instead (like vgy.me), and link to those in your posts? that used to be the norm on reddit for years before they've introduced image upload.
I have nothing against Signal. I just don't have access to a phone number right now. I fully intend to use the Signal when I get a number. I know there is no silver bullet, no absolutes in the privacy world but I'm looking for any messengers that are generally considered to be private and secure on Android that I can try to...
I've clocked over 660 hours in Apex Legends. recently finished Psychonauts 2. currently playing Valheim with some friends and Witcher 2 on my own. all of that exclusively on Linux.
being able to connect to not only another instance, but also another platform. I can use my Mastodon account to follow a Pixelfed account and to reply to a Lemmy thread. that's not something that the mainstream, commercialized internet with its walled-off silos would ever let you do.
many of those are imported from the tier0 Fediblock list, which includes all the instances any decent human being would want to block as well. I don't see myself wanting any content from pedo dot school or teenagegirls dot biz.

Does anyone else have multiple accounts while looking for new reddit alts? So far I've got accounts on Lemmy, kbin, and Squabbles and I've been lurking on Raddle, Sqwok, and Tildes from the outside....
Misskey (another microblogging platform) has been growing rapidly recently, mostly in Japan, and despite fewer users than mastodon.social, one of its instances has been having more posts recently. PixelFed is getting some traction as well, and the upcoming option for importing Instagram posts will probably help it gain even more users, too.
sometimes it's just labeled "Add to homescreen". not sure if it's a change on Kbin's end and whether it'll behave the same way or open in a regular tab, though.
yeah, I guess something's changed with Kbin's configuration over the past few days, then. I've still got the PWA "installed" and it shows separate from Firefox (you can see Firefox proper on the left side):

I'm surprised so many of the subreddits don't have any messages set by mods that explains why are they've gone private and have the generic description of the subreddit in there instead.
any kind of score system encourages people to try and game it with low effort content and makes them more focused on numbers than actual discussion. we don't need that here, and I'm saying that as someone who's had over half a million karma on their main reddit account.
I was initially introduced to Mastodon a few years ago by a close friend and picked up on it quickly given the benefits of not having to deal with advertising, or being shown what a mega-corporation thought I should have to see through algorithms. I have since found a great instance over on cupoftea.social that promotes quality...
