MSNBC: Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME) calls his opposition to an a mistake after deadly mass shooting in his district.

Golden: I have opposed efforts to ban deadly weapons of war like the assault rifle he used to carry out this crime. The time has now come for me to take responsibility for this failure. Which is why I now call on the US congress to ban assault rifles..for those who have been harmed, I ask for forgiveness"

@JenWojcik @augieray Yeah, our household of three hasn't had a known infection either. We're all higher-risk, so we never stopped masking, got all our boosters; we don't eat inside restaurants or go to indoor events, but I wouldn't call that self-quarantine.

@artemis @StillIRise1963 @birdpoof Chicken pox is definitely no joke, especially in adults, I was 21; I don't even remember the first three days of the high fever... just wretched. Best believe my kids got all their shots.

It's really hard to concentrate on while my husband is yelling at the insurance company over billing issue.

They are terrible, and he is fighting the valiant fight. I don't begrudge it at all, but I just can't think!

Our house is super open, so there's nowhere I can get away unless I actually leave the house, and I keep expecting him to be done soon. But as many of you probably know, calls to insurance companies can go on longer than you expect.

    Sitting in a Thornbury cafe, watching the staff line up all the delivery bags for those keen on receiving half-cold coffee etc. I really don’t get the appeal of food delivery when you live in a neighbourhood with lots of cafes.

    @timrichards Well, I haven't been indoors at a cafe in years now. I miss it a lot. Maybe it's a best-possible option for other folks who are staying cautious, but still want to support the local businesses?

    That's officially a wrap on my 8th . This year looked a bit different for me because I honored my little neurodivergent brain and took breaks when I felt myself getting overstimulated and didn't attend any big panels. But I got to hug many friends and enjoy a lot of laughs. That's what it's all about. I hope everyone else had an amazing @gally1

    @HibaIssa @gally1 I spent all three days crocheting a Meep. It was fun to chat with other crafters, and with folks who were having some truck food, or needed to just sit for a spell.
