59 years ago today, Griswold v. Connecticut guaranteed the right to birth control.

Justice Thomas says the Supreme Court should "reconsider" that ruling.

And this week, 38 GOP senators voted against the Right to Contraception Act.

Republicans are coming for birth control.

There are no dates anywhere on the page. Not just hidden somewhere, or on hover, or in the URL. I checked the source. They do not exist.

80 years ago today, 2,501 Americans died at Normandy to protect lives and democracy.

Some were black, knowing they would return to a racist US.

Some were gay, knowing they could be court-martialed for who they were.

They fought anyway for what was best and right.

I don't care what you think of Biden. A world with Trump in the White House will be a disaster. In 151 days, you can do what is best and right without risking your life.

Every election. Every race. Every Democrat. #VoteBlue #DDay

99.7% of Venture Capital money goes to people that are not Black women.

0.3% of Venture Capital goes to Black women.

The 11th circuit court cited civil rights law when it said that it is racist to stop anyone from having access to VC based on their race, and that setting aside VC for people of a given race is racist.

So they ruled against a group of Black women looking to give their own money to Black founders. For violating the civil rights. Of white men that want that 0.3% too.🙂🙃

Mostly you shouldn't subclass built-in types. But if you do, dict subclasses can define missing: it's called when a key is missing. Instead of hiding a dict in a function as a cache, how about hiding a function in a dict!? A Fibonacci dictionary:

Today is the anniversary of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, one of the worst incidents of racial violence in American history – and one that continues to haunt Americans.

One of them is Gregory Fairchild, whose grandfather was caught up in it, and whose family history personally inspires his work.

This is kind of building on something Adam Serwer was saying but—

There's this snap poll showing 50% of the US "agrees" with the Trump verdict, 30% disagrees, and 20% is unsure.

https://bsky.app/profile/johnpfaff.bsky.social/post/3ktr6cgwxel2z

That 20% unsure should be treated as "20% reachable". This suggests someone needs to be reaching them! Republicans, even supposed moderates like Susan Collins, are swarming to spin this as meaning something it doesn't. I don't see evidence Democrats are pushing back

We don’t know yet how Trump’s conviction will impact the November election

We can be pretty sure of 2 things, though

  1. Tomorrow, the RNC will report Trump’s biggest fundraising day ever, the media will run with that story, and no one will follow up if/when official election filings contradict it

  2. A GOP-sponsored poll will show that Trump's conviction will not lose him any votes, and the media will run with that too

I just want us all to take a moment and reflect that it has been a couple of women that brought you this at great personal cost.

Of all the things that could bring down Trump, it has been a couple of stubborn women he felt entitled to that did it.

For those who aren’t aware, Microsoft have decided to bake essentially an infostealer into base Windows OS and enable by default.

From the Microsoft FAQ: “Note that Recall does not perform content moderation. It will not hide information such as passwords or financial account numbers."

Info is stored locally - but rather than something like Redline stealing your local browser password vault, now they can just steal the last 3 months of everything you’ve typed and viewed in one database.
