After watching “Arrival” last night, I’m fixated on the idea of nonlinear memory. It must be disorienting, and incredibly strange to remember your entire life when you haven’t fully lived it yet.

Given the amount of #injustice in the #starwars universe I'd probably barely make it to #jediknight before succumbing to the dark side, I'd react so strongly to it and not want to be restricted by the #jedi or #republic

@forgottrek I fear I'd fall to the dark side too, in response to the Jedi and Republic sitting by and letting bad things happen under their watch, like slavery.

    season 3 also features a neighbor reporting on another's force-sensitive child.

    Historical parallels once more, evoking the paranoia felt under regimes that pitted neighbors against each other and encouraged them to report certain activities deemed unacceptable by the regime.

    Fantasy world where they have been breeding dragons to be smaller and smaller until they have little toy dragons that can sit in your lap and are popular among noble ladies and if you leave them unattended in a home they will gather up all the low denomination change under dressers and such and push them into a corner to make a tiny $4.78 hoard to sit on

    Sometimes I want to offer a word of encouragement or comfort, usually to a mutual, but sometimes not.

    I compose a few words in my head and they seem cliched or presumptuous (do we know each other *that well), and in the end, I move on, feeling guilty.

    Sometimes, I'll 💙 or 🙏 but except for LOLs, emojis feel weird and inadequate or wrong. Too often.

    Long way of saying, I see and care about so much and so many people here, and that may not always be evident.

    Thinking about giving this to my 14yo genius niece who's a die hard fan. I tried getting her father to come with us to the & even room with us to allow them to save money but he said she had summer "math class".

    I was furious at him for her cuz I knew she would have died to go but I didn't mention it to her. After the trip we talked how we went & what it was like. She got very quiet.

    She doesn't own a light saber so I think she might like my Halcyon trainer.

    I’ve come to the realisation that unlike many ex-Twitter (pun intended) users, I don’t care much for replicating that experience and I’m all for a new different one. Hence why I like it here but not so much the Twitter clone that is bsky.
    Another realisation I just recently had is that I use mastodon (and Twitter before) more as a platform to discover content. So basically an aggregator. I’m thinking of exploring RSS feed readers…

    I logged into my Bluesky account last night for the first time in six months. It was pretty quiet in my feed, and a lot of the accounts I followed when I signed up, even the big names, have become inactive. Are Bluesky users migrating elsewhere, or just quitting social media altogether?

    @DugJAX @SailorDisco There are definitely more from the "Star Wars" fandom there. Quite a few joined and quickly abandoned Mastodon, settling on Bluesky.
