@atomicpoet For the past 5 years, there hasn't been much innovation in games. Most seem designed to make you sit through as many as possible.
But I would absolutely love for you to prove me wrong on that one. I haven't seen good mobile games get pushed for the past several years, although I can think of a few classics that still work today.
@atomicpoet I have no other contention with your opinions, as they are all objectively correct.
Especially:
Modern retro games are able to hone the qualities that made retro games so enjoyable, but also correct for some of the inconsistencies and extra artificial difficulty that was often imposed to make a small game feel longer and increase the time to play it.
My only regret is that most of them aren't as small as the originals.
@atomicpoet I guess my biggest issue with mobile games is I haven't seen any good, innovative ones for a while.
The Android marketplace is just saturated with the ones of the risk-free variety, and finding good ones on there has been... generally not worth the effort.
Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place, though. The good new(ish) ones are on Steam or Itch, but they don't advertise having an Android version.
@krafty@atomicpoet I've noticed that if a game is available on another platform and also on Android, it tends to be really good.
Maybe that's the trick to looking for games on Android. I need to not look on my phone.
Apparently, Google likes to take a 30% cut on any purchase made on an app downloaded from the Google Play Store, too. And companies can either decide to raise the cost for users who subscribe via mobile or eat the 30% loss themselves...
We have been leveling cities, torturing, raping, killing, plundering and abducting children for so long, my army seriously needs a break, before all those western weapons arrive, and we lose the war.
Therefore, I think western countries should give us a breather, so I can replenish my troops and get back to full blown genocide in about 6-12 months.

Even if it's propaganda, that doesn't mean the underlying truth is inherently wrong. Russian propaganda was pushing BLM when it was a major issue.
@tshirtman@evan I've found that the pro Russia agitators are some of the least trustworthy in general. Take Jackson Hinkle, who is saying pro-Palestine stuff for now, but has been generally okay with supporting (and denying) ethnic cleansing of Kurds by Assad.
So even when those people are right once, it seems based on "America bad" rather than any supporting anything good. Which means they're often okay with also supporting super lousy stuff.
