@kurtsh Trader Sam's is kind of kitschy. I'm not a fan of Lamplight, either the food or the setup. I love Tiana's but it can be limiting for some because there's a lot of spicy stuff. Craftsman Bar is essentially the same as the Grill, except it's table service. Golden Horseshoe is the same as Stage Door, I think.

@kurtsh With the various celebrations and food festivals, there are also often new things to try at familiar places or at dedicated food kiosks. Right now, there's stuff for Season of the Force, with a few more things added as of May 4, and shortly, all the PixarFest stuff will be added too.
Was at Disneyland for the last couple days for the Pixar Place Hotel opening (will share photos soon) but the cutest/best part of my trip was when my son went with me on Indiana Jones and when the ride ended, he burst into applause. 😍 #Disneyland
Recently, Smoke Jumpers in DCA was terrible burgers fry and stale, even the chicken fingers were tasteless.
Then Rancho dep Zocalo, despite being achingly slow, was soggy and bland.
Both used to be safe bets.
Disney has always seemed to have trouble with food service, it’s run like a hotel catering affair that falls apart when more than five people are in line.

@kurtsh I think with how bulky the rancor teeth set is, they might not have room to stock them at Dok's, with the lightsabres and other bulky items they have there.
And I must have read the original announcement wrong, because I thought there was going to be more than one extra destination scene. So as much as I like the #purrgil being on Seatos, I'm disappointed that there's only one new destination scene.

So 👁 saw this guy who is one of the Captain America leads in #RogersTheMusical walking in #Disneyland the other day. It looked like he was done for the day and was out for a walk with his earbuds in. You could still see the makeup on his face. Not gonna lie I kinda swooned for a split second. He can really belt it out. Such a great singer. #DCA#DLR
@TDP4 first stop is usually space mountain but it’s closed for renovations so we went haunted mansion! Those are my must sees, but also I must have a dole whip or the park day isn’t complete :blobfox:
When the husband took the dish back up, the cast member looked at it, looked confused, and then called for another of the dish, which is what he brought back. He said the CM didn't seem to know what the dish was either.
You can see in this picture, of the regular dish, that it does contain a few pieces of gnocchi, which are the orange lumps at the bottom middle of the picture. (Not the bigger orange lump at the bottom right - that's a pepper.) /4
I think this is a terrific vegetarian offering, and I would absolutely order it, especially with the abundance of kale. The question would be how to go about doing that, and if it's available, why isn't it included on the menus in the app?

Another question for #disneyland and California theme park experts. We are going to be visiting in mid December arriving on a Saturday and departing the following Sunday. This gives us 7 full days. 5 of those are for DL since we haven't been since 2017 and want plenty of time there. We want to visit Knott's for 1 day. I'm thinking of using Monday to Friday for DL and going to Knott's either our 1st full day (Sunday) or our last (Saturday). Is this a good plan or should we change it around?
@cstephens2 Thank you! That's good to know. Maybe we should do DL on that first Sunday and be sure to do anything that is only on the weekend that day.
We've never been to Knott's so I have no idea what we are getting into there. My son (24yo) loves theme parks and wants to check it out on this trip.
@PJD65 Knott's is more of a thrill ride place than Disneyland is. They'll have Christmas decorations up there in December, and when I went a couple years ago during that time, the decorations are very pretty. I think there were two holiday related stage shows as well. Always fun to look around a new-to-you park for the first time.

Our first visit to #GreatMaple#GreatMapleAnaheim was dinner on Easter Sunday. They had a few specials, and I had to try the truffled egg tarts. We did not expect the dish to be that large. The husband and I each had one, and then we ended up sharing the third to a new friend we made that night. Overall, I enjoyed the dish, and the tart was nice and flaky. #PixarPlaceHotel#Disneyland /1
Even though we had a reservation, we ended up sitting at the bar, which we enjoyed. Bar seating is on a first come, first served basis, and there are even four loveseats, two on each side of the bar. I've never seen those before.

It's nice to have a meal option that's more of a family restaurant that isn't a buffet and isn't a character meal. It's a non-Disney-owned restaurant who handles the food service for the entire hotel. We also tried the new fried chicken bao at #DockingBay7 yesterday - crispy chicken bao (the chicken are crispy, not the bao), spicy katsu sauce and creamy slaw. Good texture on the bao, good flavor on the chicken with the little bit of spicy from the sauce tempered by the coolness of the slaw. Really enjoyed this dish too. @cstephens2 Christ, guests can be whiny. I've noticed that they've really ratcheted down the authenticity of the original Batuu. Everything used to be 'credits' and 'holoscans'. Now, the cast members regularly blow it off... probably because Billy Bob can't understand the concept of world building.

@kurtsh I totally get it, and I agree. Within minutes on Friday, we had two totally different CM interactions. We were asking about Sabine and her availability for the rest of the afternoon. One CM said to ask a character handler, and they could tell us. 😟🙄 A second CM we talked to said Sabine had gone off planet because Ahsoka had sent her on a little mission.
I try to stay with on-planet language but sometimes, CMs don't even understand what I'm saying.
Yesterday, I was lucky enough to see the last two shows of #TaleOfTheLionKing in #Disneyland, made all the more special because additional cast and friends & family of cast were in attendance at both shows. The energy was electrifying.

We found out that they've had a new bread that's been available since last Thanksgiving - sweet potato bread, with apricot butter and cranberry relish. Gorgeous and delicious. Both accompaniments were so good. A much better offering than the prior focaccia bread.

For my third course, I had the "Smiling Tiger Salad" - spicy beef, shrimp fritters, and lemongrass-coconut vinaigrette. Been loving this dish ever since we had it for the first time in a vintner's menu, and then they added it to the regular menu.
My second cappuccino of the night but this time, it didn't have mushrooms in it. 😀 But I got biscotti on the side!!!! #NapaRose 3/4
