It seems #oneplus and Portuguese store #pcdiga think that a phone that bends is not covered by warranty, and sent me a repair order costing 3/4 of the brand new phone cost.

I'd rather have the money back and keep enjoying both brands.

Last week I pre-ordered a #OnePlus 12. I had instantly started to have regrets, but after looking at more reviews, especially @SomeGadgetGuy's coverage of the phone, I am confident this phone will be great. Currently I am daily driving a Z Fold 5 and I am getting REALLY annoyed with the non standard aspect ratios of both displays. All the apps stretch/crop to try and fit this phone, and some apps just don't work the way they should because of it.
@natejung OP8 was a funny duck. You could tell they were going for a premium "feel in the hand", and the phone guts were "good". I loved the 8 Pro though, despite it's comical screen curve.
Bin gerade am Überlegen ob ich mein jüngstes #Smartphone (#Oneplus 8) auch mit #LineageOS bestücken soll. Leider habe ich keine andere Wahl ein alternatives #CustomROM außer LineageOS zu installieren, da zb #GrapheneOS oder #CalyxOS das Gerät nicht unterstützen. Der momentane Zustand mit dem hauseigenen Betriebssystem #OxygenOS von Oneplus ist nicht mehr tragbar. Viele nutzlose (Spy)Apps von Oneplus lassen sich nicht deinstallieren, einige wenige nur deaktivieren. Sehr unbefriedigend das ganze.

@LovePoison@sandwich@postmarketOS For now, I want to use the OnePlus 6 as a secondary phone. I hope that on ordinary days I can just go out with the Linux phone and leave the Android one at home.
First time my #OnePlus 9 Pro stopped charging via USB-C. Had to reboot it. Let's hope this doesn't mean it's going to break soon. And there should be wireless charging as a fallback.
@coderbyheart put the phone upside down, fill the port with Kontakt 60, and scrub it carefully with an interdental brush. Let it dry for 15 minutes, turn the phone around and spray the port with Kontakt WL.
If you are feeling fancy, seal the contacts with Kontakt 61 afterwards.
I brought back several "unchargeable" devices with that.
@didek I think that you're going to have a very similar experience with either one, the hardware didn't change much between them. The 6 was originally a little ahead, but I think they're in very similar states now.
@didek What @dperson writes - as far as I can tell, it's mostly a matter of taste. I am team headphone jack, so it's OnePlus 6 for me. If you are allergic to notches, your choice may be different.
#Nothing is technically a UK company, but since it's #CarlPei, former CEO of #OnePlus, I hate that Nothing, the company that is "to mimic and beat" #Apple in their own game, has simply turned to yet another #Chinese tech company with this practice of creating "ultra-budget" sub-brands/companies that I hate so much.
No different than #Xiaomi and #Redmi/#POCO, #Oppo and #OnePlus/#Realme, #Huawei and #Honor. Nothing's version of this is their recently announced sub-brand, #CMF. It's such a big freaking mess and the real purpose behind them is just to create a division between their products/branding so that the "real", "flagship" brand can continue charging premium prices and the sub-brand can charge prices seemingly "cheaper" when compared with the flagship brand. Sometimes the "budget" sub-brand might end up becoming more popular than the flagship brand, like what happened with OnePlus, and now they have 2 expensive brands selling essentially the same thing and have the need for yet another budget sub-brand.
All in all, a big freaking mess. Just have one single company, and stand by it instead of having these "smurf accounts" as fallbacks to sell products with lower margin than your "main". If you wanna sell "budget" devices, just create a budget line of products within the same company/storefront. This quantity over quality business practice is ridiculous.
@rakyat I'm assuming they don't actually (for the most part), but technically yes lol cos they're essentially the exact same company. In some cases they are literally selling the same stuff though, cos some of their devices (phones at least) are literally the exact same, just with a different badge, name, and price - like some OPPO and OnePlus phones I've seen. It gets even more confusing sometimes when the "cheaper" brand becomes more popular and start selling devices at higher prices than what you'd be able to find in their "flagship" store.
They could just stick with a single brand, and still be able to sell flagship products at flagship prices, while selling budget products at budget prices - like with #Samsung and their "S" vs "A" phones, or even #Apple with their "SE" and "Air" lines (albeit more confusing and limited meaning behind "budget" lol) - but clearly their current business model is what works. I can imagine how people would go crazy over "Epal", Apple's "sub-brand" that essentially sells the "same" products at "cheaper" prices.
What a silly dumb way to say "OnePlus will continue to sell the fastest charging phone in North America, which is roughly three times faster than Apple's fastest charger for the iPhone, and the charger is included in the purchase price of the phone"
@lekkerdansen It's even better. If Samsung or Apple can improve their 30-45W charging it's "new" for next year, even though it would still likely be slower than a OnePlus 6T.
OnePlus maxing out the capability of a USA home 120V electrical outlet will always be "old" technology moving forward.

On parlait de ce téléphone avec mon frère l'autre soir. Lui qui n'ouvre quasi plus son PC portable et qui passe son temps à tout faire sur ton téléphone, ça ne lui semblait pas une mauvaise idée d'investir dans un pliable à la mort de vieux machin.
@dada Un de mes frères s'est acheté un fold 4 d'occaz, et pareil, ça remplace bien un pc portable pour pleins de trucs, il en est très content. Ça fait réfléchir !
It would be so cool to actually seriously try @postmarketOS as my daily phone. I would keep the SIM card in my #Android phone and use tethering, but if it works well I might switch it around and have the Android phone be tethered.
I'm kinda lucky in that I have nearly zero need for #SMS and traditional phone calls. If I couldn't make or receive phone calls it wouldn't be that big of a deal. #LinuxMobile#MobileLinux#postmarketOS
Encore une autre panne du oneplus : il y avait un truc qui se passe dans ma ville sous mes fenêtres et je voulais filmer, j'en ai l'habitude (c'est un truc annuel qui me rappelle un souvenir d'enfance). bah j'ai super bien filmé... Et d'un coup la vidéo s'est arrêtée, et n'a pas été enregistrée. juste à la fin, après 7 ou 8mn de film, et alors que la mémoire du tel n'est pas du tout pleine ni rien >< .
marre de cette marque vraiment. plus jamais #oneplus ici.
je suis d'autant plus dégoûtée qu'il y avait vraiment énormément de participants cette année, ça aurait fait une bonne base de comparaison avec les années les plus maigres. et j'avais pensé à zoomer sur les points importants, pour une fois. tout ça perdu >< . c'est hyper désagréable :/.
@PJFDF@sirber the exact reason is still unclear. Some have reported that the green line appeared after updating the OS, others reported that it appeared out of nowhere.
