If you are awake, there are as far south as Munich and apparently Texas right now. At least in Munich you need a long exposure, it's not bright enough for the naked eyes.

But this receptacle is turning into a fire hazard. Contact resistance from loose terminals is literally melting the plug to the toaster oven.

suddenly i had a revelation: my nozzle sock i added to my mini may be blocking the part cooling fan (which i've heard is already a bit on the weak side)

stupid if true (but would explain their lack of a default sock) (i need to get one that fits better just in case)

i don't have the energy to actually test this (question mark)

I left my 3D printer unattended for a couple of hours, and it completely screwed up and the extruder got completely encapsulated in a 1cm thick glob of PLA filament. This is what it looked like after half an hour of delicate unglobbing. Another half hour of cleaning and reassembling and it was working fine again. Not sure what went wrong - PETG builds are nearly always perfect, but I'm building something that should be a little more flexible, hence the PLA.

@saustrup PETG is more flexible than PLA? If some PETG is stuck in the hot-end path and you push PLA through it can glob up heavily. Cold pulling with PETG or PC might help.

@kaibiermann kleinkriminell waren die schon vor 10+ Jahren nicht mehr. Ein Kundeskunde eines früheren Arbeitgebers hatte .de.vu, eine große kostenlose Domain die oft für Betrug genutzt wurde. Abuse ging an mich.

Ich hatte regelmäßig Opfer und Polizei am Telefon. Eine Frau hatte einen Traktor für einen sechstelligen Betreff gekauft und mich angefleht weil sie ihren Hof verlieren wird wenn sie das Geld nicht wieder bekommt...

@kaibiermann Habe dann intern erzwungen, dass ich dem Kunden einseitige Kündigung androhen kann wenn er seinen eigenen Kunden nicht innerhalb von glaube zwei Wochen los wird.

Es kamen noch monatelang Polizeianfragen und ich habe denen dann immer das erste Aktenzeichen genannt damit die miteinander reden und zumindest wegen organisierter Kriminalität intern mehr Ressourcen bekommen...

@Quinnypig subtly incorrect. Yes, we can dynamically generate views and you can choose to persist them as dashboards. The first demo I showed was about "you have built a dashboard, so now let's generate good descriptions of what you built and what it does". Relatively well-constrained answer space with near trivial verification through the human -- and building shared language and thus understanding across the org and the wider industry.

Did someone ever try to use a 3D printing pen to fill-in those nasty seam lines that a printed 3D model has on each layer? Usually I sand them away after optionally filling them with super glue and baking soda. I wonder if closing the gaps with a 1.75 mm filament compatible pen could be an option, as I could use the same filament used to print the model.

The from Toronto to the airport not only has a diesel engine, it also has a gearbox and shifts gears. A train!

Not constant speed with generator and electric motors for higher efficiency, lower weight, lower cost, and less complexity.

Don't think I ever was in one of those -- or if I was, I certainly didn't hear and feel the engine.

Yep, no customs. Exited directly into the normal gate area in SFO and could walk out.

Eine durchsichtige PETG Platte in einem 3D gedruckten Rahmen. Auf die Scheibe ist ein Text gedruckt: "Transparency is" und ein Symbol für einen Schlüssel (Key).
Auf zwei Werkböcken liegt eine runde durchsichtige Scheibe aus PETG. Darauf ist auf der Unterseite in Haken aufgedruckt, daran hängen an einer Bandschlinge Hantelscheiben mit insgesamt 12,5 kilo.
Die Hantelscheiben an dem gedruckten Haken, von oben gesehen.
