On Jan. 17, 2001, bassist Jason Newsted revealed the news that he was exiting Metallica.
@gavin57@TheMetalDog I dunno about that. Death Magnetic and Hardwired had some solid songs. But I'm not impressed with 72 Seasons, and when I first listened to St. Anger I brought the disc back to the store and insisted that I had a defective copy.
Those who cover their cars in #racist#propaganda & drive around looking to generate #controversy are always the dumbest people on the planet. This ass-clown covered his car in barely-legible, pro-#Hamas, pro-#Nazi messaging and iconography, including multiple Nazi swastikas. Except he used the wrong #swastika. The arms of the Nazi swastika point right, but he used the Hindu swastika, in which the arms point left. If you're going to hate, at least get it right.
@slcw all forms of the Swastika (left pointing and right pointing) are upright and adorned with dots. The Hakenkreuz is tilted at 45 degrees.
Other symbols such as the gammadion, fylfot, etc. are also depicted upright but without any dots.
Two well known Indigenous artists Thomas “Breeze” Marcus and Douglas Miles (alongside renowned artists #Swoon and #ShepardFairey) were to have an exhibit open Sept 8 at the #Mesa Contemporary Arts #Museum but it was abruptly postponed due to a piece that stirred some #controversy.
@ABecenti wow. That’s so ridiculous. Especially seeing that the piece that seemed to upset them was “…seen as critical of police brutality”.
they’ll offend all of these amazing artists who’ve worked for years on this exhibit bc they don’t want to offend local police by being anti police brutality? That’s infuriating and I totally understand why Miles is so outspokenly upset.
