I just recently abandoned by Lemmy.ml account and also I've stopped doom scrolling #instagram.
I'm one of those "meme friends", you know, someone who does the #doomscrolling for you, and I just stopped one day and released an IG story saying "do your own damned doomscrolling".
This is because Instagram is now filled up with #bots and #contentfarms. For every 30-40 of useless garbage and mindrot, I got maybe 1-2 good videos/reels.
The internet, including social media, is filling with #spam.
I’ve created this little graphic to post as my last ever post on #instagram. Before I do i thought I’d throw it out here first. Any thoughts or tweaks?

@adamhsparks Good points. I'd say the same with Mastodon vs Twitter. I have about 2000 followers here and had 5000 followers there, but I have much better engagement at Mastodon.

Das Schlimme jetzt: Menschen mit Hirn geben alles ab an AI, die wiederum datenssammelnden Firmen dient, die wiederum AI trainieren ... und das Zeug, weil's ja auch billig für Insta sein muss, wird halluzinieren, sein Ding machen. Oder dich mies vertreten (s. Behördenbots).
Shit, it seems #Instagram has me all figured out... It's now suggesting weight loss accounts, showing me adverts for gastric balloon treatments, AND a personal trainer (whom I've foolishly followed) has messaged me for due diligence on the progress of my personal weight loss journey 😐
@lalage Wat grappig. Dat heb ik nooit geweten dat Instagram daarvoor gebruikt werd. Inderdaad, hier op Masto lijkt de spoeling dun wat boekenlezers betreft. Lijkt, he. @boeken heeft aardig wat volgers.
