Since I'm always the first to get upset at crappy customer service, I'd like to send a shoutout to #logitech for working with me to enable my MX Keys keyboard so that it works in my dual boot situation. I love the keyboard but basically gave up on it since I couldn't use it to dual boot. It wouldn't detect bluetooth until boot, so I had to use 2 keyboards to navigate the situation. All working now! So thanks to logitech support for sticking with me until the issue was solved.

I did my federal tax return in January and they grabbed it for an audit or something (which is weird, mine are so simple) - but I've heard NOTHING and it's now almost end of May. Sucks. And the IRS, there is NO way to contact a real person. Like, 0. 🙄😡 so, yeah. I always appreciate when there is.

The software for my favourite mouse, Logitech MX Master 3S for Mac, has been updated, and now it is also an AI prompt builder! It creates the ai_overlay_tmp folder in my home directory, and there is no easy way to disable that!

This morning, Logitech announced their new webcam that has a Micro Four Thirds lens mount (the Mevo Core). I was really excited about this until I saw the page on Amazon mention that it is rechargeable (without listing any other specific details about the battery).
It turns out that it has a sealed in battery that isn't removable/replaceable. So once the battery stops holding a charge after a couple of years, the entire device will become e-waste. So disappointing.
So I left a similar comment on PetaPixel's article about the Mevo Core, and someone from the Mevo team replied to clarify that the battery actually IS user-replaceable! Wow, so happy to be wrong about this!
I really like the low-profile design, the base is really solid, no connection issues, everything works as expected.
The only real problem with this thing is the keycaps. I just broke one by accidentally popping it off. They have these flimsy plastic clips that keep them in the place, and I just knew one would break sooner or later.
Also the black coating has started to wear off on common keys.
Overall I'd say this thing is definitely not worth the (steep) price.
I'm also not sure mechanical keyboards are for me. I tried to find a compromise with this model's low-profile, less-clicky keys and though I like the height, I don't love the feeling or the sound.
I'd much rather use something more like a laptop keyboard, but it doesn't look like anyone except cheap noname Chinese brands are making any.

this is the microswitch you should replace under the button.
A few bucks apiece, but if you have half a dozen of these trackballs lying around your house because your whole family uses them, $2 to renew the trackball is much better than $35 for a new one.
Bazzite started as a SteamOS alternative to the Steam Deck. Cool. Expanding Bazzite to other handhelds? Makes sense. Making it available for general PC usage? Also good.
How about making a Bazzite VM and then streaming that content to a Logitech G Cloud?

I did loads of programming in Pascal in the 1970s and 1980s, on #DEC10s, #Vaxen and on the first IBM PCs (#TurboPascal). Then, #Modula. If you are using a #Logitech device today (I am!), that's another outcome of Wirth's vast ouvre!

Now the actual fun part: the device has a "speedy" scroll mode, where you hit a certain button on-top of the mouse and suddenly your mouse wheel goes weeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :awesome: 😄
Literally, you can actually spin your mouse wheel and it keeps momentum. There are no "steps" anymore when scrolling. That feels so funny!😄

How to change onboard memory profiles using Logitech G Hub
If you have no fucking clue how to use this awful new G Hub software to change the settings stored on your mouse or other logitech device, look no further. This software is so much worse than the old Logitech Gaming Hub.
A few things you should know:
When onboard memory mode is turned on, you can only change which existing profile is in which slot.
New profiles can only be created when onboard memory mode is off.
Profiles can be created attached to a game, or just under the "Desktop" category if you don't want them attached to a game.
To make a new profile and put it in onboard memory:
Disable onboard memory mode
Double click on your device, or click its settings button, to enter its settings menu.
Click on the drop-down menu at the top right. At the bottom, click "Manage Profiles".
In the top half of the window, select Desktop or whatever game you want the profile attached to
Click "profiles" towards the bottom, and then "Add profile for the selected app"
Tweak your settings however you want using the buttons all the way at the left.
Hit the back button to go back to the view of your devices
Re-enable onboard memory mode and re-enter settings. The settings menu looks entirely different when onboard memory is enabled.
Click on the name next to the slot you want to change
Scroll down and select a profile from the drop-down menu. Yes, it's formatted horribly so that you can hardly tell what's a profile and what's not.
