Climbing up and down a ladder seems like a lot more work than just stairs. And I complain about stairs. Plus you can’t travel with anything handheld using a ladder.
Absolutely. Unfortunately, that mid 20th Century roof layout doesn’t leave enough room to land, but at least the uniforms usually have belt holsters for phasers/tricorders. As it is, the transporters are currently scrambled, so the ladder will have to suffice.
