A few new breakthroughs with the #GTK and #Wayland on #Android experiments - I got a super low-latency (not noticable even with touch input) hardware-accelerated #GStreamer pipeline to work that can pipe out the X server capture and Wayland/Pipewire XDG Screen Cast Portal FIFO from proot (Debian - non-rooted and w/o virtualization) to a GStreamer pipeline that's running on native Android! It's super fast, and even allows stuff like teeing the actual display outputs, and it runs at >60 FPS 👀
Once more I got an #Android earthquake alert that was completely useless. To prevent my phone being an obnoxious chirping, twittering creature of the night I have Do Not Disturb on. While many things are allowed to bypass DND, earthquakes it appears are not one of them, so it remained silent.
Does anybody know a way to #unlock the #bootloader of an #pocophone , that does not need to create an Account and the usage of a shady Tool that is hard to use?

Calling out #Hertz rental cars for their extremely shitty check in experience. The mobile app just straight up fails with no response for the user - off screen spinner, mobile web fails identically as well. Desktop web fails because some geniuses decided that using native #Android camera SDKs is too much work, and whatever crap they're using takes repeatedly blurry pictures of my driver's license, which then fails their check in process. Heckuva job, Brownie.

Got my Chipolo ONE Point! First impressions: yep, it’s a little Bluetooth item tracker. 😁
Interestingly, it has a button just like the standard Chipolo ONE, but it doesn’t do anything after the initial pairing. No ring-your-phone feature or anything… I wonder if that’s something Google will add to the Find My Device network/spec later? Not a big deal, I almost exclusively trigger that accidentally on my Tiles. 😅

Also falls mir wer mit #Android-Entwicklungskenntnissen ein paar Pointer geben könnte, ob es möglich ist, als Third-Party-Code aus #OsmAnd Informationen über die aktuell laufende Navigation zu ziehen, und wie ich das (am besten ohne Android-Programmierwissen; Termux oder HTTP wär optimal) bewerkstellige: Ich würd mich freuen.
Insbesondere interessiert mich die geschätzte Ankunftszeit, aber auch die Koordinaten des Ziels. Gern auch inklusive der Zwischenziele. Aktuelle Position ist egal.
Außerdem hat OsmAnd wohl eine auf AIDL basierende API, die man als Third-Party-App benutzen kann. Da kriegste dann auch jede Menge Detailinfos während der Navigation und so.
Das Problem dabei: Soweit ich das sehe, gibt es keine einfach scriptbare App, mit der ich AIDL-Requests machen könnte, sondern ich muss meine eigene Android-App dafür bauen.
Unklar, ob ich mir das gerade wirklich anlachen will. Ich hab noch nie für Android entwickelt.
