The cargo ship that crashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore has been refloated and towed to port with the assistance of five tugboats. The ship, named The Dali, had been trapped under debris from the destroyed bridge since March, when the collapse killed six construction workers. A major bridge in #Baltimore collapsed after being hit by a #freighter at about 1:30AM Tuesday, sending at least 8 people from a construction crew into the water as a large section of the #bridge crashed into the #PatapscoRiver. The container ship, traveling at a relatively rapid speed of about 8 knots, lost power in the moments before it struck the bridge, #Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) said at a news conference.
The “changing conditions” of the waters near the #KeyBridge, including temperature & loose debris from the collapse, made search efforts dangerous for first responders, ofcls said Tues evening as they suspended #rescue operations. Divers will return to the waters at 6AM Wednesday for a #recovery operation, #Maryland State Police Superintendent Col.Roland Butler Jr. said.

The bridge is part of the outer beltway around Baltimore and sits above the shipping lanes of one of the busiest ports on the east coast.
I really like the #artwork of #Catalan artist Antoni Gaudí. At the end of the 19th century he became famous for his works of wrought iron, furniture, ceramics, sculptures, mosaics and stained glass windows. His forms were always organic, curved and integrated into the buildings. Anyone who has ever been to #Barcelona will have spotted Gaudí's signature everywhere in the city (Park Güell is amazing!)
Now I was able to get close to his art in a very special way. In 2023, an immersive art centre in the Phoenix Halle, a former gas treating plant, in #Dortmund was created.
