She might be a cool person and all, but reading interview titles like "Rebecca Ferguson admits she still hasn't read Dune" is infuriating to me.
Like, you're getting paid how much to play this iconic character in a beloved franchise and still can't be bothered to familiarize yourself with the material? That's just disrespectful.
It seems to me that many #Dune fans aren't aware of what Frank Herbert thought about David Lynch's adaptation of this book. There's a little, not very well known interview of both him and Lynch talking about the movie, and I feel it contains quite a few interesting bits:
Dune: Part Two just had its release date moved up. Unfortunately, that date is not “tomorrow” but we’ll take what we can get. The Denis Villeneuve sci-fi sequel is still coming out March 2024 but now a few weeks earlier.
Listening to the #Dune#soundtrack for the Nth time while working on a talk, and it feels as evocative, engulfing and atmospheric as the first time.
I genuinely don't get people who say Zimmer doesn't have range. If The Lion King, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean or The Dark Knight trilogy – just to name a handful of famous scores from his massive discography – all sound the same to you, you might wanna get your hearing checked...
I haven’t read any of the Dune books, I haven’t seen any of the movies, and all I know is that there’s something called “spice”and there are big worms in a desert.
Well, this is my #review of #Dune, and it is complete, because it ended here.
Random thoughts, my journey of reading and more filler because it's my #blog after all. Mild #spoilers ahead, behind a clear warning and you can skip them!
Grimes thinks she’s Lady Jessica, I guess because she spins bullshit tales about her kid becoming the Chosen One. She thinks he’ll be like Paul Atreides, who launched a Holy War that kills billions. Great. 🫠
Finished Book 1 (a third) of #Dune by Frank Herbert and it is really good so far, I actually feel that watching the movie helps quite a bit to understand some things, they compliment each other well so far.
I have finished reading Chapterhouse Dune. My fools errand is finished. It’s not good, and of course ends with loose ends.
I think my personal recommendation is reading the first two books. Although just one or even zero are solid choices. Three is alright, except it’s a trap if it makes you curious and want to read more.
I’m tempted to revisit Heinlein who I haven’t read in at least twenty years, but I’m also afraid he’ll be disappointing.
Dune 2 Is Coming Earlier Than Planned, But Not as Early as You'd Hope (gizmodo.com)

It's almost here! (Pic of Dune 2 film on IMAX platter) (i.redd.it)
