"A judge blocks the foreclosure sale of Elvis' Graceland, after his heir alleges fraud"
A fascinating story, but what got me was the bit about Graceland being valued at $400 million. For 14 acres. That's about $28M per acre. That's approaching mid-town-Manhattan prices.
This how much Elvis was revered? Still an amazing draw? Can't think of any other person whose home has so much value.
Graceland is up for sale — or is it? A foreclosure sale of Elvis Presley's compound in Memphis, Tennessee, has been advertised for this Thursday, but Riley Keough, Presley's actress granddaughter, filed a claim to say that the suit on the creditor's paperwork for a $3.8 million loan is fraudulent. Here's more from NBC.
Update: A judge has blocked the sale of Graceland after a notary said the signature on a deed of trust wasn't hers. The document purportedly showed that the late Lisa-Marie Presley had borrowed $3.8 million from a company called Naussany Investments, giving Graceland as security. Here are details from ABC.

She noticed a young boy outside the drugstore and asked him to pose with his bicycle so she could finish the roll and turn it in.

peace to mojo nixon. weird al playing his "elvis is everywhere" #video on one of his 1987-1988 AL TV specials on MTV (that i had on home-taped VHS) was one of my first exposures to anything underground/alternative. having only a passing knowledge of who #elvis was (let alone many of the other subjects), there was a lot of new information for me in this song/video. can't say i ever got deeper into mojo nixon, but a very real moment in my education. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYdkefCYl4M
