Tory donor’s company set to benefit out of crumbling schools crisis
We can reveal that a firm owned by a Conservative Party donor has bagged an £11.5m Government contract to supply temporary classrooms for schools built with unsafe concrete.
The Department of Education has asked Wernick Buildings Limited to provide “temporary accommodation and associated services to mitigate schools disruption due to rebuilding, condition and refurbishment programmes”.

The company is controlled by David Wernick, who has given more than £71,000 to the Tories either through his companies or in a personal capacity between 2001 and 2021. More than half this amount – £42,000 – has been donated since 2019.
It’s only with your help that we can push on with our work, including investigations like this one.
The UK branch of the rightwing “hate group” Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), which supported controversial anti-abortion protests in the UK and has funded travel for a Tory MP, increased its spending in 2022 to £770,000.
Spending in the UK has surged, from £390,000 in 2020 to £770,000 in 2022.
"During the pandemic, 9,000 beds and mattresses were bought – at a cost to the NHS of £24m – for Nightingale hospitals which lay largely empty. After months of investigations, we can now reveal that 6,000 of these beds were not fit for clinical use, and have been sold at auction for only £410,000" #Covid19#NightingaleHospitals#GoodLawProject#ToryCorruption

A BBC investigation has revealed that water companies have released vast amounts of sewage into our rivers and seas during dry weather.
This looks likely to be illegal under UK environmental law. If sewage is released when the weather is dry, it can become concentrated, boosting toxin-producing algae and putting swimmers at risk.
Will you help fund the fight for a better fairer future?

Together with Dale Vince, founder of Ecotricity, we are launching a legal challenge against HMRC to close the private equity tax loophole.
If private equity were to be taxed properly, HMRC could collect an estimated £600 million more in revenue each year from just a couple of thousand people.
