Got #Jira, #FME and #QGIS all hooked up on #GIThub for the first time in my #GIS career....
....why didn't anyone tell me about this sooner??!!
Complete game changer for managing teams and workloads!

How come that people are working with tools (and content) like #Confluence, #Jira, #Webbrowsers in general, #Word, ... and don't have external #monitors in portrait orientation? 🤔 🤷 #PIM
Oh no! You notice that a #trolley is heading towards 5 people. You can easily pull the lever to divert it to the other track, but your PM wants you to create a #Jira ticket for it first, with a thorough description and steps to reproduce, epic and sprint assigned, story points and hours estimated, and that you keep updating its status through the workflow steps when making progress on pulling the lever.
In #Jira, when viewing your board, is it still impossible to look at a closed #sprint? This is so annoying.
"But have you looked at the Issues page" - yes, it's annoying and certainly not the same as looking at an easy-to-read and nicely ordered list of sprints!
Big thanks to @cybersheepdog for the inspiration on the Domain Assassin project. It's been terraformed and tested as a lambda inside of AWS for my job's DNS Twist jobs for ops to be automated across all of our domains. I plan to have it #opensource end of the month with terraforms and all included, but sanitizing my work's information.
Local version just makes an excel spreadsheet, the lambda makes Jira tickets. Working on Crowdstrike IoC injection now #Jira#Cybersecurity#InfoSec
Sometimes I dream of #Atlassian going bankrupt, so $Employer will be finally forced to use a more sane set of tools.
The incoherence between their tools is mindboggling, the lack of addressing fundamental UI/UX issues since many years is pure neglect and disdain towards their actual users, the friction caused by these horribly bloated products might be more severe than not having them in the first place.
This platform is stuck in the past and not moving forward!
If a #developer fresh out of college still starts their career in a company in a #DevOps or #Agile transformation; if 6 months in they're convinced #Scrum sucks because they were forced to work with centrally misconfigured #Jira; if business still drops yearly roadmaps on scrum teams or "IT" for building them; if those teams are blind to infra concerns; if devops engineers are just ops engineers in isolated ops teams: then what exactly have we been transforming in the last few decades?
I love the #Jira ticketing system and the Agile/Scrum methodology in general. I've worked for years and even decades in waterfall environments, and agile just suits my non-linear brain better.
I wonder if #ContentMarketing teams use Jira or have Agile methodologies.
If you work in #Marketing, I'm curious to know what project management software and project management styles you're using.
Good morning and happy Thursday to all of you around the #Fediverse today!
Let's start our day with our #MorningMoments and find out what the plans are for the day today.
For me, I have LOTS of work stuff to do as we're swapping our issue tracker over from GitHub to Jira so I have to transfer everything over and get it organized correctly.
After that, hopefully it's just a day to relax a bit and catch up on some TV shows.
Have the impression that #Jira is now at a point where is distracts non-experts from what is important in lean and agile software development. They flood you with so many seemingly overlapping concepts that you need to be an expert to make use of Jira nowadays. That really explains the rise of simpler competitors in recent years.
