überlege, mein sehr altes #kindle an das #Kind (6) weiterzugeben, das vermutlich bald einen eigenen Reader gut brauchen kann. Wäre ein weiterer Schritt zum #AmazonBoykott bei sinnvoller Nachnutzung für mich. Mir selbst würde ich dann evtl. ein #Remarkable2 kaufen, das scheint wahnsinnig toll zu sein. Mir fehlte bisher immer die Reinkritzel-Funktion ins Buch. Wichtige Bücher kaufte ich daher doppelt, absoluter Unsinn. Hat jmd von euch Erfahrung mit dem Remarkable? #eReader

Does anyone know of a package that sends marked text/a buffer in Emacs directly to your kindle email address? Can be via mu4e or whatevs. I know I can export it as a doc and send but you have to go through a couple of hoops for that and I'm wondering if an Emacs package could do it instantly.

The uncountable times a patient comes in for their cataract evaluation, toting a Kindle—after inquiring about what they are reading, I feel it’s my public service to then ask, “You are using Libby, correct?”
So many, “What is that?, No, I just read the cheap books.” I’m floored about how many have no idea.
Ugh. I am then forced to reschedule their cataract evaluation so I can get them squared away with their public library.
I’m currently reading #Frankenstein, Or The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley. I’m having a bit of a rough time, because, to be as polite as I can, her style is a reflection of her era.
I’m doing this because I want to catch up on all the reading that I was supposed to do in high school. (Apologies to Mr. D, Mr. F, Mr. S, and Ms. G.)
One of the nice things is that nearly all of the material is freely available on Project Gutenberg, and that means I can read them on my #Kindle.
#Amazon is a hell of a salesman. I purchased a #Kindle for my mom and it automatically signed my account up for a free trial of Kindle Unlimited. It would automatically start charging $12 after a month if I didn't manually cancel it.
Is this even legal?
CLARIFICATION: not complaining about the automatic prolongation, but about the fact that I was automatically subscribed to a related service based on the device purchase.

JavaScript user agent doesn't identify it as a Kindle browser at all, just regular unusable gibberish (it says 'Kindle' in server headers but these I can't access in my setup).

My beloved gen 1 Paperwhite #kindle died and I've chosen to replace it with a Kobo Libra 2 and start to escape the Amazon #ebook ecosystem. I've already dedrmd all my existing purchases.
Ironically I had to buy my Kobo from Amazon, only place with any stock.
Wait, what?! Stop, hold the presses! Many are engaging in the typical hue and cry because #VoiceDreamReader is going to a subscription model. But am I the only one who noticed the reference in their announcement to forth coming #KindleIntegration? Seriously? this might make it worth it for me right there never mind the great voices I enjoy. #Kindle, did it really say #Kindle?
