People often ask me how to become a law professor, and I finally took the time to collect some tips and resources! Check them out here: https://tiffanyli.com/resources/
Ah yes, the old law school hypothetical no one believes could happen. There's no perfect solution in these cases, just enough exchange of money to make everyone walk away unhappy.
"Property owner stunned after $500,000 house built on wrong lot"
@markheftler@law Makes me wonder if the newest editions of The Bluebook have a section on citing from AI. I guess there needs to be. Any law students or professors out there know?
This little putz deserves his own national holiday for being such an arrogant, ignorant piece of shit! The balls on this fucker--it's the school's fault he lied about attending!!!!
“When I was teaching #lawSchool, I learned and taught certain #constitutional#principles. When #MajorieTaylorGreene was teaching #CrossFit, she learned a whole different set of values, evidently. Because my idea of what this country should be like is based on the #constitution, and she sees the world differently.” ~Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO)

Arrive knowing we won’t be called until 9ish at the earliest. Settle in.
8:30AM -
Staff plays video in English/Spanish/French asking jurors who don’t comprehend English to go forward for additional instructions. These potential jurors are taken to a different waiting are.
9AM -
Judge: Swears the jury room in, tells us judges have calendar calls, then will call juries.
Me: Welp, nothing until lunchtime, then I either end up on a multi day trial or go home.
Staff starts a Diane Keaton romcom.
9:30AM
I ask if I can go downstairs to the cafe to buy some coffee. They have a process in place. The lady that runs the court cafe makes damn good coffee.
10:50AM
Staff starts our second feature: The Greatest Showman.
11:10AM -
First large group gets called for voir dire right as the movie gets good. My name isn’t called.
11:20AM - Barnum (Hugh Jackman) is finally accepted - kind of - by high society, but he’s just been a jerk to his cast, which sets up the dramatic arcs for the third act.
11:30AM -
The rest of the potential jurors get released because all of the other trials settled. Don’t ruin the end of the movie for me.

"For decades, conservatives have railed against judicial activism, but Thursday’s decision striking down affirmative action by colleges and universities in admissions was the height of conservative judicial activism. The court rejected almost half a century of precedents, overturned decisions made by public and private universities across the country, and ignored the history of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution.
The experience of California — where affirmative action was eliminated by Proposition 209 in 1996 — shows that it still will be possible to have diversity in higher education, but it will take sustained effort and it will be difficult."
My alma mater #UArizona has developed an alternative to the #LSAT or #GRE as an entrance exam for law school. Today it is being reported that the American Bar Association has approved the alternative as an admissions test. Among the benefits touted is lessening the racial disparity present in other exams. Check it out if you're curious: https://jd-next.org/
In the before times #lawyers and #lawschool professors would carefully read through #SCOTUS decisions to determine if they established new legal principles or modified earlier ones. Currently, non-law, concerned #USA citizens read decisions from this SCOTUS to determine who paid for the decisions.
