Not me grinning ear to ear! I spent all day today making a nice color version of the 3D #eclipse Sun and woah its working!
Headed to Dallas, #Texas on Sunday and was gonna drop this off at a studio in Fort Worth for their fundraiser auction, but I think its too big for a carry on.
I will admit- its not as round as perfect as I want, but definitely getting there!
Excited to see it age in fully- should be nice an bright.
It feels weird to #travel non-interrail, but since this trip is a short one, including buses, and broadened bit by bit, single trips were the choice.
First Pärnu just for fun, then Vilnius for a #LightArt festival, Berlin, Leeuwarden for a festival and then back home via Sweden. I'm especially looking forward to the train trip Vilnius-Warzaw, not so much buses until Vilnius. That's why the breather in Pärnu. And for fun.
A video of the xenon piece I made on Friday hooked up to a standard electronic transformer. On most of these it has this lightning in a bottle effect. You can hear the arc bouncing off the walls of the glass in its staticy white noise. It's reactive to touch an electrical currents
The stuff lighting up nearby is from the electric fields coming off the wire. Sloppy wiring on this little tester setup.
Note to ADHD brain: Get your act together and finish work on S-TRACE, one of maaany unfinished projects started last year... A mini thread of some WIPs...
In thinking about what to make tomorrow during the Urban Gala, I bent this little doodle.
Never made a #doodle quite like this one with the inner wraps like that. I like keeping myself on my toes by trying new things with these and keeping them fresh and interesting. I feel like I have so many directions to go with these!
This is perhaps more exciting to watch than a tiny little BOO. It took over an hour an they are easy to break mess up midway.
Some photos from a studio visit in San Francisco with Ames Palms of Rebel Neon. After working for many of the other big companies in the area, Ames started their own #neon shop specializing in artistic and often unconventional neon projects that often push the limits of the material. They are a neat artist and person and are cultivating a community of makers and artists in their space!
