@pathfinder I had to order a new heater because the one I got with the tank kit sucks. It won't keep the temperature stable, even though its set to 80. Got a new one that's temp controlled to keep the tank at a perfect 80 degrees 24/7.
After I get that, it will be time to start the cycle process.
@ashleyspencer You can start cycling the tank right away if you like, as it's not dependent on the water temperature. The positioning of the heater might be part of the issue - it needs to be diagonal, so the thermostat is higher than but not immediately above the heating elements. It's always a good idea to have two heaters all the same, just in case one fails.
