An orca has reportedly rammed into a yacht which was sailing from Lerwick to Bergen.

Look, if you want me to think of the billionaires as people, then they have to live among us and that means giving up the billions, which means not being billionaires anymore.

I can't solve this dilemma for you, it's a real Catch-22.

I mean, if you want to live above the concerns of normal people and ascend beyond human concerns we can't exactly treat you as if our lives have any commonality anymore, as if you're actually human.

I worry about whether or not my insurance will cover me if I suddenly develop cancer or impoverish my loved ones--you're worried about whether or not the tax rate is going to go up on your private jet and if you should move the headquarters to Reno instead.

We are not the same.

We're barely sharing the same planet.

It would have been a lot cheaper and easier to just cram the billionaires in a cute little submersible and PRETEND that it went down to the Titanic. You could literally display anything in that little porthole “window” and they wouldn’t even know.

The Orca-rudder thing:

'''
brief-lived behavioral “fads,” such as the weeks in 1987 when killer whales in the Pacific Northwest paraded about with dead salmon draped across their heads. Such fads have no clear benefit to the population — they usually are anomalistic in nature — and thus are one of many indicators that killer whales participate in complex cultures humans are unlikely to fully understand.

Why orcas attack, sink boats: just for fun, killer whale experts say.

"They're probably socializing, yucking it up with each other about their adventures without realizing the terror they're creating in their moments of joy," Trites said.

Trites is one of several orca experts Insider spoke with who all agree the orcas are just having a good time and probably don't have any ill will against the boats or humans on board.

Killer Whales (), talking amongst themselves: "Humans are not our friends!"

Study: Humans cause more orca deaths than previously understood
By Liam Moriarty, Dec. 29, 2020

Researchers have long known that dwindling runs, and underwater boat are major contributors to the reduced number of orcas along the West Coast.

"Now, a ten-year study of killer whale carcasses found washed up on beaches in the eastern Pacific Ocean has found a significant number who died from more direct human causes.

"'This study was really a decade-long look at what do killer whales die from, from California to Alaska all the way out to Hawaii,' said Joe Gaydos, a wildlife veterinarian with UC Davis who participated in the study."
