The BC Finance Minister says she "will not cut services”, but they are. Unless you don't consider Post Secondary Education a “service". My University has and will be laying off multiple professors, staff and others and closing entire programs.

All because our government funding has not increased in line with costs for years and decades.

(even while tuitions are higher than ever and students are struggling to make ends meet and attend classes)

Overheard in the past 5 minutes: "I feel like I'd be a much better student if I didn't work"

[implied: have to have gainful employment outside their full time studies just to survive]

Worth a listen if you are interested to understand Canada's decision to freeze international student visas. A very level headed and thorough explanation of how we got here. (not a big surprise: it's the fault of BC and Ontario for underfunding postsecondary and under-building housing)

— Updated with a Reply with Instances! -- OK Mastodon - I have a question about universities and instances.
Do you know of any Universities or other Educational Institutions that are hosting their own or other instances? Please leave a reply with the example if you do. I'm building the case for my University to do so.
Thanks!

slammed for to inform a former that she would miss out on because she was transferred into the permanent care of a family member.

has to the woman for the mistake or investigate whether other former youth in care were given similar according to the release.

The Sun never fails to hit it’s daily, and very creepy, bikini story quota.

I guess it saves them money on hiring journalists, seeing as how their readership can only manage the large print as it is.

You can pretty safely assume that anyone reading The Sun regularly doesn’t have any post-secondary education.

Those that do and choose to be stupid read the National Post instead.

cazabon,

@taco I neither endorse nor refute your criticism of The Sun.

However, this attitude of looking down one's nose at anyone who "doesn't have any post-secondary education" is bullshit, elitist, exclusionary crap.

If someone is willfully ignorant, go ahead and call them out on it. But not having had an opportunity to go to post-secondary school does not make someone automatically a moron, unworthy of consideration as your fellow human.
