Failure to Comply with University or Civil Authority: Failure to comply with legitimate directives of authorized university officials, law enforcement or emergency personnel, identified as such, in the performance of their duties, including failure to identify oneself when so requested; or violation of the terms of a disciplinary sanction. • k. Guest Responsibility: Recognized Student Organizations are responsible for the actions of their guests (i.e. fans, performers, non-RU attendees, alum). • m. Inappropriate Use of Space: Not using University - controlled spaces in accordance with the standards of the particular space. During the period of this interim suspension of organizational activity, the organization is prohibited from participating in any University activity and promoting University programs without express permission from the Senior Student Affairs Officer or their designee. ** Please Note: Any violation of these directives will lead to further/harsher sanctioning. It is your right to appear personally before Dr. Salvador B. Mena, the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, or his designee, within two (2) working days to discuss the following issues only: • (a) the reliability of the information concerning your alleged misconduct; and • (b) whether the conduct and surrounding circumstances reasonably indicate that there is no potential threat or danger to community members by the activity or organization.
If you wish to exercise this right you may contact Dr. Mena's office to arrange an appointment by calling (848) 932-8576. It will be the Vice Chancellor's decision either to affirm or to alter the interim suspension of activity based on this meeting. If the interim suspension is affirmed, an investigation will be conducted and a University Hearing will be scheduled if necessary. If the decision is altered, the interim suspension will end, although the original charges will not be dropped.
